1991 Audi 90 Quattro 5 cylinder duel head over cam oil pan

Is there anything on the inside of the pan that may be still keeping it on because the engine was not sitting on the pan and the sub frame had been removed we even got the bolt that goes in from the transmission case into the oil pan and it still will not come off... do you have a book on it and if so could i get pictures or the instructions out of it?

Is the pan loose or tight? if it's loose, but won't come down, it could the oil sump hung up on the windage tray, the windage tray goes between the pan and the block, it has a hole in the tray for the oil sump to fit thru, the tray is to keep oil from splashing on the crank, hope this helps

SOURCE: 1991 Audi 90 Quattro 5 cylinder duel head over cam oil pan

Good Day;
What you have to do is remove the 2 front sub-frame bolts, this allow clearance for the oil pan.
Torque for oil pan bolts 15 Ft. Lbs (20 N.m)

Hope this helps

Cheers

put in an engine flush ,as it can be carbon build up.then do oil and filter change.use a 20/40 oil as it is an older car. turbo will use more oil due to the heat.from them.

My 91 honda civic has alot of white smoke coming out of the exhaust, and have oil on the spark plug in the #3 cylinder not sure what the problem is (bad vaulve/seal)??? one month prior to problem blew...

I'll tell you what few might be problems
Oil on spark plug could be:

1. bad cylinder rings 2. value seals
For Value Seals you will take off head again and then take off value over. Take all (Lifters or Cam) and springs off and you will see seal rings in each of values.
For cylinder rings, you will maybe need to take motor out and take head off, oil pan and rod bearing unbolts to get cylinder out to replace new rings. Or you can try do that without motor out. just take oil pan off under the car.
Try change oil with 1 qt of Lucas Oil and 4 or 5 normal oil. Best oil is Castol High Mileage
Lucas Oil should help stop leaking oil inside the cylinder. Or another kind bottle called (Stop Smoke) at auto store.
