Question about 2007 Infiniti FX45 AWD New Cars
Driving along, just accelerated into traffic. 40 MPH
Notice throttle unresponsive. Engine stuck at 2000 rpm.
After several seconds which seemed like an eternity, engine quits entirely.
Heavy-armed steering and very heavy braking got the car over safely.
Try to restart many times over ten minutes: Same 'exact' cycle: Start, 1000RPM for a second, 500RPM for a second, quit. No roughness; all cylinders felt like they were firing; the motor was simply shut down.
Dealer says its bad fuel, but I doubt it; we only go to one Phillips 66 station. Our other cars are fine.
Thanks in advance!
I would also doubt bad fuel.
did the dealer scan the car to see if it set any codes?
this is a fly by wire car that means there is no throttle cable. if there were a glitch in the therottle sensor it would shut down the engine after the computer sensed the throttle not responding. but this should have set a code that would have stayed in the memory
