That has a built-in `slip mode' on the gear. The works must either be stiff or stuck or the motor needs a new kit,or just install a new motor if the works inside are good. Not a hard job, really.Just drill out the motor rivets and bolt in the new one. don-ohio

Electric window problems

Start small. Check the fuses. If all good, push your window button. If you don't hear anything, it's either a bad switch, window motor, broken wire, or loose connection. If you hear the window motor while pushing button, yet the window won't go up or down, then it either came off track or the window motor gears stripped out

My passenger window is stuck and won't close what do I do?

Stuck windows can be caused by:

1.Window rubber channels dirty or broken. Try pushing the window down or up while pushing the window riser switch. If it moves with the push, the window channels are dirty. Cleang up the window rubber channels first with water and soap, then push the window glass up and down while pushing the window riser on. If windows do not move, it could be caused by no power supply to motor (#2 or # 3) or broken riser gears

2. No power to your window riser motor. check your fuses. 3 Burn out window riser motor. - Replace motor.
4.If motor turns, but windows does not move, it could be caused by broken window riser gears, and need to be replaced.

Do all of these by removing the door side panels first and inspect the rubber channels, motor connections.

I have an 2003 pontiac with super charger and the front passanger window wont go up or down but you can hear motor working and i looked in side door panel and cable moves but nothing to keep tentsion

Window regulator is not working properly. most window regulators that you can buy aftermarket (Napa, Carquest) come with the regulator and window motor as one assembly always good to both as one unit.

My 1996 Ford explore xlt and my driver side window will not go up or down on its own. I can force it to roll down and pull/push it up with my hand. When I push the button to roll it up I can hear the...

The window may have come of the track, if you can hear the motor, it's probably fine. If the window moves around freely, it's most likely of track.

Power window on drver side does not go up and down, but you can still hear the motor working in it. It is a 2004 Kia Sedona EX

Motor works but window doesn't move. Remove the interior door panel from the door and you should see the track the window travels in. The motor is normally at the base of the door. There should be a plastic track that pushes the window up and down that the motor actually moves to operate. On some models there is an actual metal gear and scissor type function. In these types of window systems it is possible for the gears to lose contact and when that happens the window stops operating.

Power windows will go down but will not go back up on driver and passenger sides

listen for sound of motor while you push the power up. if you can hear noise and the window does not go up then you have a bad window regulator. if you don't hear any thing, then it could be the switch

My rear passanger side window wll not go down.

Sounds like the plastic gears on the window motor have wore out and may be stripped or the window is partially off track.

Power window not working, motor and electric good, whats wrong?

Well either the gears aunt lined up correctly or the motor old and tired. Doesn't have enough power/torque to spin gears. might just need a new motor.

1994 geo prizm windows in back go down but not up.

is this on BOTH windows?? it is odd they both failed at the same time.
If you here the motor running there is something inside the door has let go or falling off. the door will have to be taken apart to be fixed.
this is what's inside YOUR door. (passanger side, drivers side is just a mirror image)
44e5675.jpg 1. there could be a problem between the motor gear and the moon gear. or 2 (most likely) the regulator arm has come off the window track or the window track has come off the glass.
hope this helps.
