The dozen or so car parts stores that you drive by every day sell car parts. surprise!
The dealer also has a parts department next to their service department, they would be happy to sell you parts also.

Understanding Parts Warrenty's

For those that have bought parts and had them fail know how frustrating it is to have to pay for a new part. Here is the scoop on Parts.

Aftermarket parts have a 6 month to 90 day warranty if a mechanic installs it (Professional) labor is included, if part failed because of another part that the mechanic said needed to be changed you pay for parts and labor and any additional parts, So if a mechanic tells you need something get two estimates and go with their recommendations The cheapest way may not always be the best way to fix the problem.

When replacing parts ask mechanic if rebuilt or new or used will be supplied, you have the right to have only original parts replaced with OEM original Manufactures parts. This will cost more but may last longer discuss with your repairman what you should do, if your going to keep the car go with the extra money, if selling or trading in you are not going to get your money back so go with rebuilt parts.

Exceptions to the Last statement. Electrical Parts such as alternators starter switches. Most parts stores will not give you your money back if you buy electrial parts so whn buying staters or altanators bech test the parts before you leave the store to make sure it works, Once your out the door the only thing you will get is a replacement part and not a refund. This goes for mechanis as well as the general public.

If you are replacing the parts yourself always disconnet the battery before replaceing altanator or starter. If your car has a alam system on it be sure you know how to reset it after you disconnet the battery because it won't start afterwords with some types of alarms.

Glove compartment handle broken. Need part, or part number

Hi,
The part number (while usually not nessesary for generic interior parts) is most often found on the part itself. This will be a manufacturer part number and will most likely only help if you are getting parts from a dealership parts department. (usually 20-40% higher than aftermarket parts). I did find a listing for the release handle online, the part is in the $70 - $90 range with shipping here:

Hope that helps....Mike

Trying to find the part and actual name for this part for a 2000 chevy malibu v6 3100 need a "bracket that bolts to the motor on the front passenger side" this is not a mount

You will not be able to get this at a parts store. From what you are describing, this sounds like the bracket that the mount bolts to-commenly refered to as the motor mount stand. Either will have to get at the dealer or salvage yard.

Part nos of Harnesses needed for Analogue Tuner Part No.: A211 820 14 97

I know, it is the same reason why we do not get part numbers for all parts either. Car dealers get part numbers from an international database update by part makers, often a smal part like a wiring harness can have many part numbers for same part from different maker.
The only info I can get is for standard mercedes made parts, engine, body etc.
If you for example ask me part numbers for additional wiring etc. that info will be difficult to find.
All I can do is giving the part list for part you need, find sellers, and give help on fitting or troubleshooting.
As we are not car part sellers, you will need to contact one of the sellers listed on main solution, send them list , and they will return prices and some times part numbers for whole equipment needed.
If you ask explicitely for part numbers only, they probably will not give out parts numbers at all.
