Question about 2006 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx

1 Answer

Abs/brake light After starting my Chevrolet S-10 Pickup, a few minutes after all instrument panel lights are off, the ABS and Brake lights will come on and remain on until I switch the ignition key off. Sometimes they will stay off, but lately they remain on until I switch the key off at my final destination. Can you tell me what to do?

Check your brakes reservoir fluid level, if this is up to level then there is a problem with the hydraulic system one part has failed could be the pressure differential valve devective yet this is your brakes system have it check out by a certified tech. Hope this help.

Hi. Your 2001 Chevy Silverado is equipped with Antilock Brake System (ABS). You will identify also if your car is equipped with ABS by looking at the instrument panel for a yellow ABS indicator light after you turn on the ignition.

All the best!

On the 2000 Chevy S10 pickup truck, 2.2L automatic, the Brake light and the ABS light stays on when the truck is turned on and running until it is turned off. After turning it off, water starts leaking...

Hi, it sounds like you have two different issues. 1st, the ABS, and brake lights are coming on due to a fault code in the ABS. This would need to be read by a scanner capable of reading chassis codes. It could be a wheel speed sensor issue, but there are a few to choose from. A readout from a scanner should point you in the right direction. Meanwhile, your ABS will be inactive, but you should retain your base braking system. As far as the leak, it sounds like a possible back up of water condensation, from the a/c sytem, leaking into the vehicle. This could be as simple as a plugged drain at the engine side of the firewall (below passenger foot area). Check the rubber drain tube for restriction.Thanks...

depending on the system if it is 2 channel or 4 channel one of the sensors that are located on the backing plate located behind calipers is eithier faulty or dirty you can try brake cleaner these sensors use a small magnet pickup device to sense when the wheel "locks up"
