Question about 2005 Ford Mustang

1 Answer

Electrical issue I drove the car today in the morning, it was raining lightly. I parked the car in the garage for 6 hours. I return to start the car, the car won't start. If the key is turned on all of the lights on the dashboard flash. The key turned off and removed, there is a servo sound under the dash. The car sounds like the fuel pump and/or the injectors are clicking. The only way to stop the clicking/flashing lights was to disconnect the fuse box (I had trouble disconnecting the battery).

I have since found the solution to my trouble.

The clicking with the car turned off was the parking lights flashing like a strobe.
The servo sound was the CD player cycling through the disc slots....*slowly*.
I connected the battery to a charger for a few minutes the next day, and some charge made the clicking go away. I jump started the car, and drove it to an auto part store. The diagnosis was alternator. Tried to charge the battery while the alternator was being replaced. The battery would not hold a charge. I suspect the alternator took it out when it went bad for good.

I have since replaced the battery and the alternator and the car drives well.

Not sure this is the solution..but the same thing happened to me several times over a few month span. After many attempts to fix a number of items (alternator, etc.), I was told that there was a problem with the radio, and that it had to be "factory reset." My local dealer got some kind of code from Ford and fixed the problem. I haven't had a problem for over a year.

My 97 intrepid will start up, but putter out within seconds

Map Sensor or Crank Sensor. If you have a code reader the map sensor should throw a code, the crank sensor most often will not. Both will cause the car to start, idle to around 1,000 R's and then die.

No not at all. The problem may be with the anti-theft system. Sometimes in older cars, especially Dodges', the theft system starts to act up even though you put the key in the ignition. You may want to have it checked out at the dealership, shouldn't cost that much just to have it looked at.

Brakes are very touchy after sitting

I thought the caprice had disk on all wheels?? But it sounds like it's time for the rear brakes to be serviced. If you do have rear drums the pads could be worn and the shoes are slipping and grabing. You can try backing up in a empty parking lot and backing up and giving full brake application. About the 7th application would reset the brakes, if that does not help then the breaks need to be serviced. Good kick

2003 Toyota Sequoia won't start.

Have you gotten this problem fixed yet? If not what is the condition of the battery cables( corrosion free)? Also how old is the battery? One dead cell could possibly cause this problem.
