When the filter is changed, are you wiping the filter's seal with oil first? You must do this to help it seal against the filter housing. Just dip a finger into the new oil and smear it onto the seal. Also, before installing the seal, spray brake cleaner or degreaser onto a paper towel or rag and scrub the area where the filter seal mates to the engine - you may have grime on there that is preventing you from getting a good seal.

There are some simple kits which have a glowing fluid which can be seen with a UV ultraviolet light supplied in the kit.

You add the glowing liquid to the engine, run the motor, and inspect the drips for the leak location. Then you fix that bad part.

Now sometimes the sending units do leak. But any gasket or seal can leak just as well.

Do not run the engine with the oil light on. Check your oil level constantly. No oil=no engine.

Can not speculate on battery problem from info provided.

All you can do is locate where the leak is coming from and replace the gasket or seal that is leaking. Common places are: valve cover gaskets, front and rear intake gaskets, front and rear main seals, and timing cover gaskets.

Sounds like you are right on the apex seals. Oil coming from the intake is probably from excessive blowby pressure in the engine due to bad seals. The battery could be bad from age, is it the original battery?

Replaced rear main seals and oil pressure sending on a 2000 z71

Check the oil filter housing and the cooler lines at the housing. The oil filter housing gaskets are good for no more than 15k to 30k miles if your lucky. The lines at the housing are easy to strip out when you reinstall them so take your time if you do it yourself an once you are finished and ready to start the truck, let it run for about 15 minutes and constantly check the area for leaks prior to road testing the vehicle.

Constant smoke from tail pipe.

If its smoking that bad you should be able to tell if its oil or antifreeze by the smell, stand behind the car as its running, if its white and you smell a sweet smell its antifreeze if its blue and smells like a oil refinery its oil.
