Recently my 2002 pathfinder (107654miles) will drive twenty minutes and just die. After i let it cool down it will run for a shorter period of time. Took it to a shop computer said my camshaft sensors were bad. Had those replaced. Twenty minutes later driving down the road car dies. Today i let my car idle for 1 hour with no problems thinking it would get up to temp and die. Not the case it idled perfectly for the 1 hour. i pushed the gas pedal to rev the RPMS and it got to 2500 rpms and died instantly. I've been told about every sensor that could fail when it over heats but this doesn't explain why the car can idle for over an hour. what else could lead to this problem
They probably replaced the wrong sensor(s). The sensor is located in the front timing cover and goes(standing in front of vehicle facing engine) straight into the cover to the right of the middle of the engine. you had taken it to a Nissan dealer they would have most likely diagnosed/repaired it correctly. You need to go back where you had the incorrect work done and tell them that its not fixed so at least this time you wont have to pay.
