ECU has forgotten Throttle Position.

Turn ignition to KOEO for 30 seconds...you may hear throttle clicking fro a few seconds.

Turn ignition completely off . Now start engine...idle should be 800rpm and steady.

If not the Throttle Adaption needs setting ( or your throttle body is dirty of faulty....unlikely if it was OK before.)

Not to repeat myself but...KOEO means key On, Engine Off.

While ignition on, running throttle relearn, do not touch the throttle pedal.

Another method is to turn KOEO and press throttle to the floor and hold it there for 10 seconds.
Release throttle and tn off key.

Start engine and idle should be 800rpm and steady.

If none of this works, you need a shop with a Vag-Com or VW scanner to set the throttle relearn.

Whilst there is no Throttle Adaption done, the a/c will not work...ain't electronics fun?
