Question about 1990 Toyota Celica
After it rains my 90 celica starts fine but will start to sputter and the engine sounds like its going to stall. Any ideas thanks alot
Check your air filter and filter box. It sounds like somehow water is getting into the air filter. This is not good in any circumstance. If there is any water getting to the air filter and into the engine, you need to find the where the water is coming from and seal it off. Engine + Water = Damage in most cases.
So, check your air intake. Specially around the parts that join together. Such as the main air duct tube and plenum, then air filter box, ect..
It definitely sounds like water getting into the intake somehow, and I'd check that absolutely first. Your airbox should be dry as a bone, even after driving through a monsoon. LoL. Check into that first bud.
