Thanks, for the info on the 25volt caps,

I mean how do you know the caps were blown.

As far as we know the green flashing light could have been caused by something else, any fault on DM board does the same.

In future also remember than many user do not have practical skill, at least in second post remind them to test component and observe safety rules.

Try to reduce your dodgy answers and concentrate on giving good ones, I think Fixya is trying to select a class of better experts, you seem to have the right kowledge

    goodbye

Honestly, if I have to rate it it will be thanks for trying.

    The post herehttp://www.fixya.com/support/t321085-mit...

was a fix from a user that found 4 burnt capacitors inside his tv:

"DM box removed.......still have a flashing green light even with the
E2P module removed.....I even tried to plug the TV in without the DM
box installed and still just a flashing green light...I guess the next
step is to test the 4 16v caps..."

In the premium you answered you just repeated what user sayed after reading the article.

The green led on Mitsus flashes whenever TV enters in protect mode.

Even if the diagnostic was on power board (we do not even know), it is not necessarily one of the caps on DM board.

Regarding the 25 V caps, this are the power board caps, on those you can use higher voltage, and as you said you get same capacitance.
Try replacing randomly 5 or 6 caps on main board using higher potential caps on board and see what happens. When a cap is used as a delay on a circuit, for example, the voltage matters.
I am not very interested in talking about circuits here.

My main concern here was that you told to the guy to replace parts just because you were repeating what he was saying, and what he had read form another internet page.
I think you did not had a clue, but that is my opinion, and I will keep it for myself, as you have been kind answering me and clearing my concerns.

If I vote you, it will be TFT, I prefer not to vote and forget about this right now.

Dear smart guy, how do you explain what Low R and High R means, and instruct a home user to test resistance within specific cap Ohms range, or how to use, or set multimeter to capacitance meter to a user that never used a multimeter?
If a capacitor has blown, it has also no continuity. Testing for continuity is an easy operation that can be performed without live power.
Think about improving your solutions instead of trying to be smart here.

    Ginko Oct 04, 2008

If you take power off there is no risk to damage anything, I am not telling user to test capacitance. I am telling just to test if a capacitor has blown.
If a cap has blown, either has shorted or has no continuity, to be precise I should have also mentioned to check if you get almost no impedance, less then one ohm, that is when capacitors short out, but they generally melt down and you can see it.
Now , don't bother me for every bad solution I can give. If I do the same I must send you a hundred messages.

    Thanks.

Not a big problem, same website also sells LG parts, evidently the user found the right page and part. I must have confused two different problems at that time.

    Take care.

If 16volt capacitor is unavailable, 25volt capacitor can be utilized as it has greater working voltage. Capacitance should be same i.e 1000UF
I'm practical electronics technician and I do repair TV, VCRs, DVD Players, Camcorders, Digital Cameras etc ..like that stuff.
Hope you satisfied. :)

    Dear Ginko,

I appreciate your concerns to fixya and those people who trying to repair their tv.

I would like to mention asker's question here...

eljavier0170@hotmail.com So I found out today that I too have the fast flashing led problem. is all I need to do is replace the 1000uf 16v caps in the on the DM power board? Will 25V size fit. thanks in advance.

Its clear that Person has already gone through internet and have enough knowledge how to do this job. He was just asking to make sure about capacitor working volts. that's all.

I hope my answer was not dodgy.

I do not answer any technical question until I have knowledge about it. You will never see me in Cars, Micro waves, Refrigerators etc stuff because I don't have practical experience for all that. So I don't involve myself in it. Its my policy in real life as well as at cyber too.

Now what about rating my reply :)

Comment by ginko, posted on Sep 28, 2008"To
test a capacitor, you touch the two capacitors contact with the
multimeter, and check impedance, if this is infinite, it means there is
no continuity, and capacitor had blown."

It is not the way to test capacitors. :)

I'm not smart and consider me as an idiot or stupid here but the capacitor can not be tested in that way what you said in post.
Your capacitor testing way can result damage of testing meter either its analog or digital.
Try your cap testing method in your own TV with own meter... LOL
    just a joke.. ;)

If this is not the SE-R then no you do not need to run premium in the car. If you drive the car normal and do not drive excessively hard then defiantly no premium will be needed. Hope this helps and answers your questions!

My 1986 nissan pick up did not pass the fuel evaporative controls functional of the smog test can this problem be easily repaired

Yes,

First, take it to an auto parts dealer and tell them the situation and ask if a diagnostics test will help determine the cause. Here are some things that may cause this:

(The DEQ (or test place) should have told you what to replace)

1. O2 (oxygen) sensors
2. catalytic converter
3. emissions unit in the engine compartment
(these are usually located on the passenger front side in the corner) depending on the vehicle make, model.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

After pushing my brake to start the car, a light come on the dash board shape like a round circle and a P in the middle. could you inform me of what is the problem

You're park brake may be faulty or if you have anit-lock brakes, there is a sensor next to the brakes that may be bad. It's simply letting you know it may need replaced or serviced.

If you have ABS, (anti-lock brakes), you're brakes will still work fine, however you will not have the anti-lock brake feature. If you slam on the brakes you brakes will lock up.

Consider taking the car to an auto parts dealer and consulting with a representative or a brake specialist such as Les Schwabb or such.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.
