Lots of stuff ! #1 If you can ,try to start it in neutral. #2 In park hold the key so start and have an assistant rap the starter motor lightly with a bar or whatever(if that works the brushes in the starter are going, starter time) #3 turn on the headlights ,have your assistant watch, they should be bright, then turn the key,if the lights stay bright,it's a fault of the starter or key/ignition system. If the lights go dim or out it's just a battery terminal connection. A few things to try anyway, good luck.
hmm your car has a problem with theft sistem or one of your theft modules is going out or wireing problem most likely some how you activeated your theft sistem only the dealer can help you on that they have to erase code and reprogram it othereby me saying modules i mean them antena on your colom your key or the theft module hope this helps im a auto repair mechanic no shop can help you ok
It could be the key if the vehicle has EWS3, try your spare key.If the battery is full and you torn the key.do you get power on the thin wire to the starter?
New ignition switch.Do you have a immobolizer? (EWS 11).The coil end of the antenna could be shorted out.Or the transponder in you key could be defective.Check to see if you have a key fault message.Hopefully its just a starter.
if nothing happens when you turn the key the problem is most likely the ignition switch and housing(had mine replaced 3 times already. firstr time at 12,000 miles) what you can try is hit key with rubber mallet while trying to turn but this would only be to get it started so you can drive to a chevy dealer(dont waste your time at any old repair shop for this). Hope this helps.
stick the key in the ignition, turn it to the on position, remove it within 5 seconds, then hold the unlock button down and press the lock button 3 times within 10 seconds and release both buttons. The doors should lock/unlock to give you confirmation and your key should work.
Need more info. Do you hear the fuel pump kick on when you turn the key to the on position? Does the engine crank over at all?Do your lights go dim when you engage the starter?
