Without a doubt, a plugged converter or your engine is still running rich. Any CEL Codes?

Sounds like the cat or muffler is plugged. If there is an 02 senor ahead of the cat or muffler take it out and see if the car will start, it will run rough but if it starts one of them is plugged and it most likely is the catalytic converter in the exhaust system.

1993 Gmc Jimmy starts and sounds ok but began to buck and jumpl Changed plougs and wires with no change. Catylitic converter is making noise at the outlet

looks that your catalytic converter is broken. Before you do anything take it to a qualified mechanic and request for emission test to see whether you do have high emission due to lambda sensor failure or cat. also you can check from your exhaust end if your emissions smell like rotten eggs.If so change cat.

The catalytic lock down and the car keep heating

Not much information has been given by you but judging by what you have said the catylitic converter is plug therefore you will have to change it there is no other way to get around it. If the catvlitic converter is plugged it will cause the vehicle to heat up drastically. If it heats up too much it can cause severe engine damage. The best way to tell if it is plugged is to wait untill it gets dark outside and start your vehicle within about 2 minutes the catylitic converter will start to glow red hot. If this happens it is plugged and will have to be replaced.Do not let it run like this too long it will cause damage.

Car engine is running rough sounds like a miss the what I believe is a catylitic converter connected to the exhaust manifold on the drivers side gets glowing red I was told this is do to it being clogged...

Yes it is true, I believe there are 4 cats on that car. burn the correct fuel in it and it will run better and not clog your cats, that car takes premium gas.

Ive flushed my coolant system changed the water pump and timing belt, new thermostat and im still overheating cool air is blowing from my vents and temperature continues to climb in my '98 Honda Passport...

If it is your cat.,Look at it when the motor is hot.
The cat. will be red hot(literally)
depending on the mileage and type of water in the cooling system
The radiator could be partially, have it checked at a radiator shop
If it is cloged it will cost about 85.00 to have it rodded out.
Before that,do a bubble test to check for a pinhole in your head gasket
(low pressure in at the plug, look for bubbles in the top of radiator.

Hello! The defective ignition coil more than likely contaminated the downstream O2 sensor...If there isn't a trouble code and engine performs in a normal fashion, there's no reason to change the upstream sensor...

Its rich. You need to measure fuel pressure, and find out why its so rich. This will need to be fixed before you replace the converter. Its time to get a repair shop involved.

02 grand prix 3.8 engine will not go above 3500-3600 rpm. if i try to drive it it barely can get out of first gear because that is the shift point. when it does go into second it will only get up to about...

two things i can think of, 1) a restricked catylitic converter. 2) faulty fuel pump or injectors. check your fuel pressure a the fuel rail to test the pump. a plugged cat. will cause back pressure in the exhaust, if the car is good and warmed up ( at night or very dark place ) look at the "Y" pipe attached to the exhaust manifold, if it glows a dull cherry red replace the converter.

New catalytic converter gets red hot

clogged , check the rest of your exhaust after cat to see if it gets hot

you can buy a no contact thermometer for less than $55.00

but the shop that installed the cat should have that

good luck
