Question about 1995 Chevrolet Caprice

95 Chevy Caprice won't start unless I disconnect the fuel line.

My 95 Caprice won't start, the engine just turns over.  I was trying to narrow down the problem.  I recently replaced the gas filter.  I verified it was on correctly.  To check the fuel pump, I disconnected the fuel line by the filter and turned the engine over, and it started right up.  I reconnected the fuel line, drove the car around, it was fine, and started up after that.  The next day, it wouldn't start again.  I tried the same thing with the fuel line, and it started again.  What could be causing this, a failing fuel pump?

check the fuel reg. valve to make sure it is holding pressure if it is not keeping the pressure in the line U will have to keep doing the same thing all the time no pressure in valve the gas will flow right back to the gas tank

Fuel pump can also cause this problem, You find out if fuel pump is faulty by energising directly fuel pump, and checking fuel pressure.

Check also the fuel line, starting from gas tank, often oxide and dirt from tank can obstruct the hose. Disconnect fuel hose and blow air into it .

Check also air filter and air intake.

Think the oil pressure switch keeps the fuel pump running once started. Suggest replacing Oil pressure switch. And no it won't effect oil pressure reading when it goes bad. The switch is a safety device. When you roll it over and the oil pressure drops the switch cuts off the fuel pump. Neat huh? Need some good feedback Thanks!

I have a 95 chevy caprice . it starts cold but starves for fuel and sometimes wont drive what could it be

It is more than likely your fuel pump or a blocked fuel filter.
Good luck i hope this helps.

How do you get an air bubble out of a 1994 chevy

You would not. All air in a fuel line will come out when the fuel pump is pressurized. I assume you have tried pumping the gas pedal? Also try depressing the pedal halfway down when you try to start it, if not press all the way down and try. You may have bad gas in the line or a blown fuse for the pump. It is very likely that the pump may be bad. But there should not be any issues with air in the line. You could possibly also have bad fuel injectors.

Also do not let tank run low because fuel in tank keeps in tank pump cool. This is why the pump is in the tank.
