They are called Maxi fuses. they just pull out. I use a needle nose pliers. Any parts store will have them.

Are they just really hard to get out? I pulled really hard and they refuse to come out, but will try using the pliers. The box has a blue plastic thing running along side of it,that does not need to be removed? If it does how do you remove it. Hoping I can just pull it out.

Yeah they can be pretty hard to remove sometimes. Once u get it out make sure the contacts are clean where the new one will go. I'm not sure what the blue thing is u are describing but there shouldn't be anything that has to be removed to get the maxi fuses out. Good luck.

Better check with a test light for power to the small wire that goes to the starter from the key switch. If no power need to check for a neutral safety switch or fuse. Or the starter you got is bad. Alternator will not cause not to crank over

98 grand prix dashboard lights wont come on

I had a similar issue to yours recently. The PKG LIGHT fuse was out in the fuse block under the hood. I had no running lights, no instrument panel lights and rapid dinging when I open the door like an indicator of the headlights being left on. It is a 20AMP fuse in slot 37. There should be another fuse in one of your "spare" slots. Hope this helps.

The fan relay is stuck. It is a relatively inexpensive part. Your owners manual will tell you which relay it is and where it is located, most likely under the hood. Once you locate it, pull up on it to remove it and then take it to an auto parts store to get a replacement.
