It could be a number of things. FIRST, you need to find out what is missing or malfunctioning when it is refusing to start. The easiest way is to pull a spark plug wire and check for spark while the engine is not starting. If you have a strong, BRIGHT BLUE spark, then it would be safe to assume that the ignition system is OK and that the problem is most likely being caused by the fuel system (something like a malfunctioning Engine Coolant Temperature [ECT] sensor). If there is weak or no spark, then the ignition system is at fault and the ignition system needs to be diagnosed (bad TFI Module, Ignition coil breaking down when it gets hot, etc.).

Checking the Engine Control Module (ECM) for fault codes would not be a bad place to start either. There may likely be a fault code that will tell you what is going on.

I have a 98 z24 cavalier auto with the 2.4 I can get it to start then I stalls out a couple seconds later I have done the passlock bypass the guy I got it from took the battery out a it was running great...

Unhook your battery again for about 15 minutes. After you re hook it up, let car sit with the key in the on position, but not running. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, and then turn key off, and start it. It may run rough for a few minutes as the sensors and systems are all resetting. If you try running it right away, or cold, it can confuse the regen process

My 1988 Jeep won't start when I crank over the engine. It will turn the motor over a few times then I lose battery power. With a cold start it sometimes will start on first attempt but it has gott

it sounds like the starter is bad but first run a pair of jumper cables from the battery to the starter and the other jumper on the ground side just to make sure you don't have a bad cable larger parts stores can test it off the car if you bring it to them

04 lincoln ls turn it off, won't start, 30 mins later starts, runs great

The only way to know what is the cause of this is to have the electronic engine control module scanned for fault codes. It is the very 1st thing that MUST be done.

Have a '94 S-10 Blazer Tahoe 4X4 and it starts

My suspicion is a starter going bad. Sometimes when starters get old and worn they will start good when the engine is cold but not when the engine is warmed up. Did you perhaps notice that lately is seemed to drag when you tried starting, especially warm or it seemed to crank a little slower? I'd replace the starter. Hope this helps.
