Question about 1998 Jeep Cherokee
My Cherokee has this problem when weather is hot, the back door just won't open either with the key nor with the electronic unlock, but I figured a way to do it, press down on the piece that holds the back license plate lights while opening the door with your hand, it works for me.

You will have to remove the interior door panels first to see if the connecting rods are in place properly. Also remove the latch and see if the is any corrosion or damage to it.
