Chances are you have a bad break switch. The break switch is located by your break pedal itself. If you locate and replace the switch it should solve your problem. I hope this helps you out.

When you replaced the brake light switch did you adjust it so that it contacts when it should?
It isn't enough to just replace it, you need to adjust the pedal height to specifications in order to make the brake lights work correctly.

Also when replacing the break light switch make sure that the tab on the oposite side is locked into the bracket to left left of the break pedal or the body of the switch will move when adjusting. once onstalled correctly push break down all the way then pull the lever on the break switch towards the seat and release this should correct your issue. good luck.

Signals and break lights wont work, fuse keeps blowing

You have one of them funny american things where it all works backwards so this old gnarled europeon mechanic would have a direct answer like a real proper car, although i do think this is a opel frontier in my language. What i would do here is to disconnect the fancy brake light switch that these motors have and try checking the wires at the back of the vehicle ,like inside the rubber boot from boot door to the bodywork as this is 99% of the problems i get with hatchback type doors or whatever you want to call them in whatever language you call them. Our europeon vehicles have seperate lights for all three functions ,indicators stop and side lights.plus of course the obligatory reverse and fog lights

probably a brake light switch at the top of the brake pedal arm feel up there till you find a white or black plastic switch. They are inexpensive at Am*zon or Rock Auto.

Window break light good but actual break lights not working

sounds like you have a bad turn signal switch.

If the third brake light is working than we know the fuse is good and the switch is good. The third brake light bypasses the turn signal switch. If the rear turn signals are working than we also know that the wiring from the switch to the rear bulbs is also good. The brake lights and the turn signals are on the same bulb so the turn signal switch is what determines if the bulb gets power from the brake light switch or from the turn signal flasher. If the switch is bad usually the first thing that stops working is the brake lights.

Typically you can wiggle, jiggle, pull, push on the switch lever with you foot on the brake and get the brake lights to work. Sometimes turning the four way on and off several times will also get the brake lights to work. If this is the case than a new turn signal switch will solve you problem.

If you have any questions let me know!

1999 Lincoln Continental was in for repairs and now my turn signals and break lights dont work. Im being told it's something to do with the anti theft system because the battery was unhooked. The...

I suspect there is a problem with the turn signal/ hazard switch. turn the turn signal on left or right, if it doesn't flash, grip the hazard button and gently wiggle it around, if the signals start flashing, replace the turn signal switch. The Brake lights are wired through the turn signal switch, if the 3rd brake light works, the brake switch is OK. I don't think it has anything to do with the anti theft system (at this time)

Tail light doesnt turn on with headlights but works fine as a break light and turn signal, why?

in the rear lights you may have two bulbs one is the turn signal the other one is stop light / tail light the stop light / tail light has two filaments, one for the stop light (21 watt) & one for the tail light (5 watt) it is possible that the tail light filament is blown, try replacing the bulb to see if that fixes the problem, also check all the fuses as well.......hope this helps......cheers.

Rear brake lights not working

first check your fueses, if thats not it on the slinder part of the arm behind the dash "the break" arm. There is a toggel switch when you push the break the button will release causing the break lights to come on when you let off the breaks it will engage the toggle switch and turn off the break lights....if the toggle switch goes out they wont work also have some one stand behind the car and wiggle the wires of the toggle switch see if it has a bad connection before you replace the switch could be just corresion or the wires may have came loose..

Signal lights dont work when breaking

No,this is not normal, this normal when the emergency flashers are on,but not the turn signals.Check the bulbs(all of them)in the rear tail light assembleys. If you can not tell which bulbs are bad, replace them all.Does this vehicle have a trailer light plug?If it does,it could be in it.After the bulb replacement(look at bulbs in your hand to see if filiments are burned)replace the turn signal flasher. To find it turn key on,and left or right turn signal on,and listen, and feel for it under dash around the steering column.

It has no turnsignals. They dont even light up. The 4ways work fine.

well first off lets clear a few things 4ways are wired in with the break switch not the turn signal switch so yes even if the turn signals dont work the 4 ways might and vise versa...
if this was a car in my shop i would first check the fuse, if thats ok check the multi funtion switch see if the signal is going out from there, I am sorry now if its the multi funtion switch they are $$$ to replace most of the time when i get this kind of problem in its the multi switch they have plastic tabs in them that push the contacts together and they break off and stop working, but then again if all your turn signals are not working its probly the fuse. post comment if you need more info
good luck
