Is the fuel filter on my 98' plymoth breeze inside or outside the gas tank? and do i need to drop the tank to remove it?

get fuel filter you disturbed dirt in tank filter now clogged ask at auto stor where the filter is outside tank if not that filter take tank back off check the sock or if dirty inside fix problem by what you find

Something wrong with the pickup tube on the pump.

Inside gas tank. Need to drop tank. You also need a special tool to release sending unit from fuel lines. I would get the whole unit not just the pump.

Fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank...first you will need to remove the screws holding the filler neck to the side of the fender...then remove the 2 straps holding the fuel tank up...you may need to remove the fuel lines coming out of the fuel pump assembly before dropping the tank...when you get the fuel tank off..there should be a large retaining clip holding the fuel pump assembly in the tank..you can remove the clip with needle nose pliers or if available, use retaining ring pliers...at this point the fule pump assembly should lift out of the fuel tank...be careful not to shear off the float for the sending unit(if your using the same sender unit), then reassemble in reverse order...you may want to replace the fuel filter at the same time(some warranties on fuel pumps will not cover the pump if you do not replace the filter)

A separate fuel filter is not used. The fuel filter is build into the fuel pump module...

The fuel pump will be located inside your gas tank which will require you to remove the straps and to drop the tank down... The filter depending on the car, will either be inside the fuel tank, or outside of it near the front of the tank.

Other issues that may cause bad idling would be a bad TPS or EGR

FUEL FILTER IS LOCATED ALONG THE BACKSIDE OF THE FUEL TANK UP NEAR WHERE THE LEFT TANK STRAP BOLTS TO THE BODY/FRAME..YOU HAVE TO DROP FUEL TANK DOWN TO REPLACE FILTER..A LITTLE TRICKY TO GET AT..RECOMMEND A REPAIR SHOP IF YOU ARE NOT EQUIPPED TO DO THIS

you need to jack up the rear end and in front of the spare tire well u will see the gas tank....acrossed the gas tank u wil see to straps w corresponding bolts on each side. Remove these and once u drop ur tank out disconect ur lines un bolt ur fuel pump on top of the tank keep track of the order of the lines and then drop ur new one in and presto new fuel pump the repeat the first few steps in reverse to put the tank back in........ps if ur plymoth is like mine u will need some PB Blaster Or WD 40 to crack the bolts on the gas tank straps loose...dnt strip them

The fuel pump is inside the gas tank. The filter is next to the tank in-line of the fuel hose.

One of three spots. First, right behind the gas tank. Second, -IN- the gas tank (have a proffesional do it if that's the case, you'll save yourself money in extra repairs and alot of headache), and third is on the driver side frame near front door.
