Sounds like you lost a belt
is your battery light on? check under the hood and see if you can find the alternator if its not spinning you lost the belt. that might also be the belt the turns your powersteering pump

Lost power steering, car died, changed battery, and barley made it home. The battery has power, but when you turn the key on the dome light and other lights, radio, windows, etc don't work.

Sounds like the vehicle is not charging you may need a new alternator get the car going with jump leads again and test the voltage at the battery terminals with a DC volt meter expect 13.5-14.5 if you get less than 13.5 your alternator is bad or wiring fault also check the alternator belt is tight.

Power loss, had car jumped allowed for it to run idle. shut it down for a min. power loss again. what is it?

it could be your battery or alternator, have them cheked for voltage and for a draw in the system.there is an easy way to see if you alternator is the problem, start the car and disconect one of the battery poles,if the car dies out then your alt. is no good.

2002 Impala engine died while driving, then started as usual

If you were to turn the ignition off when you are driving it would do the same thing. My guess is that a critical ignition wire is either shorting or coming loose when inertia exists through your left turn.

In park turn the wheel all the way to the left. Did the car die? Try wiggling the red wires connecting through the starter, battery, and such with the engine running. Also try wiggling the wires through the steering column to the ignition.
