Mike, this may be because the left wheel is the dominate drive axle (left axle locks up and pulls hard, while right side slips) when under power. Vehicles that do not have possie drive differentials have this pulling characteristic.
Try flipping the front tires right to left and so on car may have a radial pull road test to see if it goes right or strait (first check tire pressure )
Not understanding you 3 wheel drive thing, But I believe that the Xterra are a front wheel drive based engine and if that is the case most front wheel drives will pull to right at excelleration and then to left under letting of excellerator. This is do to engine torque but if it is extensive you may want to check motor mounts.
is the car left hand or right hand drive ?if it's right hand drive it is located on the passenger side under plastic cover slide the middle cover off then the left hand section just pops off under the cover there is another cover that is screwed down once you have got this off the pollen filter is on the left had side it has two clips at the front that u pull forward and the filter pulls up and out then u just do the reverse of what u did to re assemble if your car is left hand drive the filter will be on the right hand side good luck
