1/2 Stereo Back light is Out

I had the same problem only the right side backlight was out on my radio. Directly in front of the gear shift will be a storage compartment. Open that by pushing on it and then there is one screw that needs to come out. You can now remove your radio with ease and replace the one bulb. They are about $5 each

My radio linghts wont come on

Their is a small bulb on top of the radio that backlights the display. You will have to remove the radio to replace it. The bulbs are hard to find... try your local GM dealer OR ebay.
Good Luck.

If there is a problem in the radio then just do not hook up the wire that runs to the dash light which in turn dims the radio backlighting and you should be fine,if you need the backlighting to work properly then replace the radio.

I have had the same problem. It is a short within the radio itself. There really is no fixing it except for buying a new one.
