I have a mini cooper 2004. I have almost 40k miles on it and while I was driving yesterday a warning light came on that I cannot find in the manual. It on the speedometer. The light is yellow/orange the the symbol is a hollow circle with three dashing on each side. Any idea what this means?
You're do for brake service. either the front or rear brake pads have worn down to minimum. if when you apply the brakes you don't feel pulsation, just replace the brake pads and sensors and that will take care of the light.

That just means you're due for service. There's a counter in your on board computer that times out on things like brake fluid, coolant, inspection, air filter, spark plugs etc.. when one of those reaches zero, the car gives that signal to tell you to go in for service. Those must be reset with an external scanner. they can't be done by the driver.
either low tire pressure or brake warning. See pics below. If it's the brake warning, check your fluid level. If level is low, check for leaks at brakes, master cylinder, also clutch slave if you have manual trans. Let me know if you have questions.
I would follow the instructions in the owner's manual for this warning light. Sounds like (but don't know) low brake fluid pressure -- which could lead to a brake failure. That's why there is an exclamation point, I guess.
This is the flat tire light. either your tires are low on pressure or the flat tire light button is stuck down. if your tires are low refill to same pressure I usually use 35 psi. then start the car stay parked. depress the flat tire button located either under the ebrake or just to the right of the ebrake. hold for 10 sec. then drive car for 5-10 min do not drive hard. drive on normal roads 25 -35 mph then drive on the highway. If the button is stuck find some kind of electrical cleaner and just keep trying to clean it till it no longer sticks down.
That appears to be a low tire warning light. If all your tires are correctly inflated it can be canceled by depressing, and holding for about 5 sec., the button by the parking brake lever. It should clear next time you start your car.
