The easiest way Ive found on a sunfire is to go through the fender and I mean ike takin off the fender and bending up the plastic to get to it and hopefully you dont have to use a tool to loosen it cause there aint much room.

I've got a 2001 pontiac sunfire and I can't get the performance it once had. The car accelerates slow. I've replaced the air filter, oil and oil filter, transmission fluid, fuel filter, exhaust, and used...

Is your catylitic converter blocking up? It may be causing the problem. Too much back pressure will cause poor performance & poor acceleration. It may be time to change it. Good luck!

I have a 2001 pontiac sunfire i think it needs a new charcoal canister where is it and is it hard to replace? how much do they cost? to the person helping thanx if u have a diagram that would b great

the canister is right beside the computer, under the front fender passenger is a small black box. you will have to remove the inner wheel walls to get to it.your car should not need that replaced already.if you have any other questions just email me at , yes I am female but I know my Sunfires.

Oil leak

the round oval shaped object in question should be the canister where your oil filter goes ,yes there is a gasket on the inside that may have been broke or left off on your last oil change

Need location and part number of oil filter on

It's a Fram cartridge CCH 9018. The container is on the front of the engine close to the air intake. It is a Black plastic container and unbolts with a 1 1/4 socket.
The filter will come out with the cap. Unscrew and attach the new filter to the cap and screw back in.
It's quick and easy.
