Turn signals and flashers

Hi, and thank you for answering my fixya problem. If I could bend your ear a little more it would be most appreciated.
Do you mean the flasher unit itself or is their a flasher rely in the fuss box I should be looking for.
To recap my problem, my blinkers and flasher are not working. There is no blinker sound or blinker lights on my dash. My parking lights work but no blinker front or back.
Thanks again in advance for the help and advice.

Blinker less in my 2004 Monte,

I have the same problem. Turn signals won't work & neither do the hazard lights but side markers work fine. Have checked all fuses and all are o.k.

Change hazard/flasher unit on the dashboard.
Unscrew screws at left end of dash, inside glove box, ( and panel below steering wheel. Pry off ignition cover on dash.
then pop off dash cover (carefully) from clips.
change out switch assembly (you'll know how) reassemble.
Part is $40 at dealer.
They all break. But no recall. My MC is 2002 but should be the same.

On mine it was the unit itself.

Need location of the turn signal flasher on a 2004 toyota avalon

Hi there:
The flasher relay is high up on the drivers kick panel near the top of the dash . You have to loosen the parking brake pedal assyembly and move it out of the way to gain acces to the flasher.

Some models, the flasher is indeed located above the parking brake. The parking brake needs to be unbolted from the body. 3 nuts on studs hold it on. Top one is impossible to see and must be done by feel. Hard to move away when unbolted.

The flasher is also very hard to pull out of the socket-
hard to grab while laying all twisted half out of the car.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Flasher unit relay

Hi there:The combination flasher for this model is integral to the hazard switch located in the center of the instrument panel, just above the radio. The combination flasher is a smart relay that functions as both the turn signal system and the hazard warning system flasher. If supplemental lighting is added to the turn signal lamp circuits, such as when towing a trailer with lights, the combination flasher will automatically try to compensate to keep the flash rate the same.

The combination flasher cannot be repaired or adjusted and, if faulty or damaged, the hazard switch unit must be replaced.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Where do replace the flasher. is it under the hood?

Hi!!
Check under dash, usually to the left of the steering column. Turn Ignition Key to the ON position (engine OFF) and the Turn Signal lever to either side, follow the clicking sound, if Turn Signal Flasher is completely out, activate the hazard lights, if they work, follow that click, usually both flashers are together.
Good Luck! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.
