I have a 2002 Impala and to reset my change engine oil light I turn the ignition on to setting right before actually starting the car and I press my gas all the way down three times within 5 seconds and that usally turns it off. Usually it works

You do it through the radio. turn off the radio. hold down the on button then you will see a display come up. with the tune button scroll until you find the change oil press in tune button, will reset, and by the way have the car in the on position.

There should be an OIL RESET button probably under the Hood/Bonnet in or along with a Fuse/Relay group which would be easily accessible and may very well be on the Drivers side. Usually a person needs to turn the Ignition Key to the ON position yet NOT starting the Engine and depress the RESET button for about 5-15 seconds. You should then see the flashing Icon (Service/Change Oil Soon) in which case the RESET has been accepted. Turn OFF Ignition.
If not then check your Owners Manual or accompanying book(let) for location of RESET button which should be listed under Oil Service or related and the description will describe procedure.

Its part of a sensor, what you need to do is look in your owners manual under "fuses" and turn to the page, then it will show u what fuse means what and somewhere around that should be the "how to" section...look up on how to turn off your oil light, there will be a sequence you have to follow tho, you can't just hit the button and it will turn off....so try that cause i remember the same thing happened to me with my alero and thats what i had to do...
