I bet that the slider control is not working properly, look on the drivers floor under the dash by the center console, you should see a diverter lever that moves when you select the air flow position. The cable may be disengaged or the lever can sometimes stick, or it just may need adjustment. you can manually detatch the cable and move the diverter control lever to see if the baffle inside the housing is functioning correctly to direct the air flow to the windshield. If any of the above do not function, a trip to your local junk yard may help with replacement parts for a reasonable price, assuming your a hands on type person. Good luck

Make sure that there is resistance on the mode selector. If there isn't the cable might be broke. If there is, make sure that the cable is adjusted properly. There are two cables and both have adjustments on them, so make sure that you are adjusting the correct cable.

this car has a recirculating system the cap on the "over flow jug" is the radiator cap and in the highest spot in the system. there is no bleeders or special tricks to this. Just add coolant and start up the car. your done.

Cold air comes out the defrost vent all the time. 1994 buick le sabre. no air comes out the front registers.

The most common cause is the blend door actuator. It's the door that diverts air between the floor, vents, and defroster. Sometimes the part will get stuck in 1 position. Some cars have cable driven blend doors, others are electronic.

I turn on heater and it sounds plugged when on front defrost? When I turn it to the feet it seems to work fine. Does not defrost front window while set that way. Where can I look. It is a 2009 Saturn...

There is internal vent flaps in the venting system to direct the air flow. The flaps can get stuck in one position. Sometimes the little motors that move the flaps can go bad. I would try to manually move the vent flaps. Pain to get to though as you have to pull some venting apart to access it.

The defroster will not turn on on my 1996 saturn sl2 any ideas

yes you can pull the the plastic surround off which surrounds the radio and climate control. then take out the screws which hold the climate control unit in and make sure the cable which connects to the lever on the top is still connected. the one on the bottom moves a flap which lets cold air in to lower the temp and the one on top moves a flap which directs the air flow to the floor or the defrost. if the cable connections are good then you are going to have to get at the other ends of the cables in the heater box. if you are going to do that then replace the core while you are in there. do a search on youtube may clear up some questions. all kinds of vehicle repairs on youtube.

2005 Silverado 2500HD 4WD - It appears that the pneumatic valve controlling the directional air flow from my heater/AC is getting stuck. When I switch the fan to front window defrost then back to...

The default configuration when all vacuum fails is to defrost vents. Most likely your vacuum supply to the switch is weak. Check the connection of the supply line to the intake manifold for damage. If no problem there, trace it to the switch on the control panel. If there is an accumulator, make sure it isn't leaking and is storing vacuum. If all this is good, look at any other vacuum lines connected to the intake manifold that may be leaking and possibly reducing the vacuum supply to the HVAC control line. Let me know if you have more questions.

Front window defroster and floor, no air flow.

I had the same issue and then I got into a slight accident with a curb. When the collision place was fixing the car, I told them about the defroster and floor and they told me that they had to clean out a whole bunch of leaves and then airflow was restored. Have it cleaned, you may be surprised.
