Sounds like the compressor isn't coming on. There is a fuse that controls the clutch on the compressor. You should here a click when the air is turned on or the defrost. This click is the clutch engaging. I'm not sure of the location of the fuse or circuit breaker on your vehicle but most are in the engine compartment.

Check for power at the fan resistor wire to the resistor, if power. change the resistor block itself. it controls fan speeds. Most resistors are beside the blower fan, below glove box. You may have to remove a panel to get to the fan resistor. check all fuses first! Even under hood fuse box.

A/C and Heater will not blow air..

Blower motor resistor is most common ($20-$70) it controls the blower motor fan and speeds or fan relay fuse (usually under the hood) If it's not either then the blower itself is bad. You can pull the motor and apply 12volts to it to test, if it spins then the resistor.

2000 Olds Alero. Cooling/Heating fan stopped

The blower is on the right hand side under the dash. You are right in thinking the blower resistor is the problem. The resistor is in the heater box behind the blower. Only 2 bolts hold it in but the back one can be a challenge to remove. The bolt is 5.5 mm.

Check for power and ground with a test light at the resistor connector. You should have power on the colored wires in the various switch positions. The black one is ground.

2003 envoy xl fan not blowing air out front vents. But air coming out back vents but its hot

sounds like you have two problems, if there is no air from front then you need to ck power to your blower motor, if no power you need to ck your blower resistor and connector, second if no cool air from rear your compressor may not be engaging, make sure you ck your fuse for the front hvac system.

Ford had a problem with the blower resistor and the fan switch overheating. The blower resistor is located in the heater box at the base, where the passenger rests his feet. Look at the plug to the resistor,if it is melted you need to check with your local Ford dealer, there is a kit to repair this. You should also check the back of the switch for the same condition. Good Luck, hope this helps.
