BmwX3 2006 engine light

Hello There.

These come on as a precousionary measures, even if there is a slight misfire in the engine it generates a code which can be read and inform you why it is there, most of the time these are minor things and light can be reset. The only time you need to get seriously worried is when the letters 'eml' light up with the engine light, then you have a serious problem.

there is a reason that the light is on.
an o2 sensor can do it and other than burn some extra gas,will run ok
the other one that is common is the "evap"cose from a loose gas cap.disconnect the battery for 5 minutes.hook it up and if there are no issues,the light will go out.alot of vehicles will erase the code in 50 starts if the trigger does not show again.
