Question about 1994 Ford F250 Supercab

1 Answer

Air conditioner blows through defrost vents instead of dash AC vents when engine under load. Vacuum tank under hood holding pressure. Tested this by building vacuum and turning off truck. Then disconnecting vacuum tubes at tank to hear vacuum escape from connections on tank. Vacuum pot that switches this function from defrost to dash vents under dash seem to be operating correctly. This truck equipped with 460 cu. in. and automatic trans.

When I excelerate my ventilation panel inside the cab starts blowing air out of the floor vent instead of blowing out of the front panel.

there is a vacuum can under the hood and if that is not hooked up or has a leak there is no vacuum reserve for the vent control valves so they go bad to a fail safe position

Defroster vent will not open

You defroster may not be block the vent controls that switches vent position is vacuum controlled there is a hose from the intake manifold that goes under the dash to control the vent position, you may find a broken hose under the hood on the passenger side it a long palstic vacuum hose these have tendency to break just use a vacuum tube to repair it.

No air from front vent on ac or heat ,blows air from defrost vents only

It's most likely a vacuum line, look under your hood (close to the cowl panel) for a disconnected, cracked or broken vacuum line.

In some rear cases, it could be the vacuum switch (in dash). Or vacuum diaphragm (under dash).

Hope this helps you ???

2005 Astro Van AC only blowes through windshield defrost vent

The mode doors in the dash are powered by engine vacuum, if vacuum is missing the default setting is the defrost vent. Look under the hood near the firewall for a disconnected vacuum line.

I have a 2006 Ford Expedition. The Air

you have a vacuum loss to the ac control head, the motors that divert air are vacuum operated, if you loose vacuum the system goes to defrost for safety reasons, the vacuum comes from the engine, then goes o a plastic vacuum tank under the hook start there, it is a 3/16 id hose.

AC blowing behind dash

on your vehilce it does not use vacuum to control the vent direction.
It uses a series of actuators (electrical).
My guess is that the air blows out the defrost (top vents) this is the default position for the mode door actuator.
More than likely it will have to be replaced.

Panel won't blow

verify u have a good vacuum source at the ac mode control switch, vacuum comes from the engine to a vacuum reservoir tank under the hood and then through the passenger side firewall to dash, if ok pull the ac/heater control and replace the vacuum mode control switch, it is a dealer only part.

AC cold air out of my defrost vents

u need to check the vacuum from the engine to the ac control head, the air defaults to the defrost when the system looses vacuum from the engine, this is for safety.

common problem, check under dash by the gas pedal if control arms are muving went selecting from ac to heat cuz this it is the control for the vents to go from ac to heat and to defrost.
