Try resetting the base idle, disconnect the battery, leave for ten minutes, reconnect the battery, start the car and do not rev the engine for ten minutes.hope this helps

a common problem on the gdi engine is carbon build up on the valve seats resulting in poor idling, the repair for this is to remove the cylinder head and clean the valve seats, but a mitsubishi garage has a tool which saves removing the head, saving a lot of time and money, the procedure is called a carbon blast, although without checking the car personally i cant say that this is definately the fault, just a common one

cheap fix by replacing the Ignition failure sensor.
It is found in the center of the top of the intake manifold, just in front of the loom plugs for the injectors.

I have a v40 1.8 gdi x reg 75k but on tick ova the revs go up and down and sumtimes stalls can any 1 help please

It is most likely to be the throttle housing and idle control valve that needs a good clean, Gdi's are prone to coking up and cleaning these parts usually solves idling problems!
