After some cracking noises, the RPM, and Odormeter went dead!!

I own a 1998 dodge Caravan; last night my car hesitated before making some cracking noises but started anyway after driving for a little while I discovered that the odometer and RPM had stopped working... should I punic or is there something I can do about it.

The cranking noise was just after I started the vehicle, but faded away as I pushed on the gas. I later parked the vehicle for some 20 or so minutes to investigate. The vehicle started well and the RPM and Odometer are working well now... I keep wondering what happened!! Coz I never really touched anything.

My dodge grand caravan today threw a 700 engine code transmission module, car wont go over 25 and only has powered acceleration for first 5 seconds car is on.

700 is a generic transmission code. It went to limp mode, that's why it drives like it does. Have the codes read with a newer /better code reader or a scanner. Find out what other codes are in there.

first of all, check voltage from alternator. at battery when running, should be at least 13.6-14.2 volts. with every thing off. if lower than 13.6 volts at battery. then alt, is bad. if alt, is ok ! then its the battery. or the battery connections are all corroded at battery post. good-day! make sure the grounds are ok to battery.

I was driving my 1997 dodge grand caravan last night and it lost power to drive like it was out of gas. My gas gauge says I have a half tank.

Assuming that you still have some gas in your tank. You can check the ignition systems in your car. This will start from the ignition coil to the distributor cap. At the distributor, check the rotor for carbonization, this must be cleaned. Check the spark plug cables for cracks. And finally the spark plugs, for burnt out. It may need replacement.
Before checking the ignition system, check the gas
lines going to the carburetor, it could be clogged or
broken. No gas fuel going to your carburetor will also
make your engine stop.

Dashboard gauges dont work, 1998 dodge caravan

These vehicles seem to have a problematic short, my grandfather has the same vehicle with the same problem, i found the short under the carpet on the driver side of the vehicle, under the gas pedal, sometimes wires can crack and break.

Surging and loud whistling noise

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Check all vacuum hoses on the intake, throttle body, etc. Sounds like one cracked or came off. Post back if you have any questions. Hope this helps.
