Changed battery and now remote doesn't work. it is on a 2005 ford freestyle

press the helpful button, there appears there is more then one type of remote, I think one has auto start and one does not.

owners manuals in the glove box and in there was the Ford Auto Start Remote booklet. For those of you who need to program a new auto start remote, you turn the ignition to the on position, push and hold the little over-ride button (mine is down on the left side kick plate near the hood release) for about 15 seconds, you will hear a chirp which means the system is ready to be programmed, just hit the lock key on your remote and the system will chirp acknowledging the remote has been programmed, continue to do this will all other remotes you have within I believe it was 20 seconds - then shut off the ignition and test your remotes. Worked perfectly for me.

Free Do It Yourself instructions from your friends at Lessco Electronics

1. Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times within 10 seconds, with the 8th time ending in RUN. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming mode.

2. Within 20 seconds press any button on first keyless remote. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming.

3. Within 20 seconds, press any button on second keyless remote. Door locks will cycle again to confirm programming.

4. Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.

Just had new shocks put on my Jeep Liberty 2005 CRD, and now the remote keys won't work. When I use them to unlock the door manually the alarm goes off.

Alot of times resetting is not exactly as some say including the owners manual. before going to a mechanic who knows your vehicle try the procedure a few times being sure to do it exactly the way the owners manual says to.

How can I program key fob for audi a4 quattro 3.0 tdi ? Both of my keyfobs are now non working, so how I vcan repr9ogram them ?

If you have a owners manual, it should tell you how in it. If you're battery's went dead in the remotes you should be able to program them according to the instructions in your owners manual. I have a 2001 jetta and in order to get a new remote programed I had to go to the dealer.

I just had this problem wtih my 2006 Corolla. You can reprogram the remote yourself for free. Here is a link to the directions for the 2006, and there is a good chance they are the same ones for the 2005, because Toyota seems to use this same set of instructions for several models. http://oscartrapp.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/tvip-rs3200-programming.pdf

No special tools are required. It does take a lot of patience, because the sequence is complex, and the steps have to be completed in exactly the right order and quickly. Remember to take the key out of the ignition at the very end. Do not just sit there with the key in the ignition, waiting for the locks to cycle.

If by some weird chance, the steps for the 2005 Corolla are different, they should not be impossible to find. Last resort, you can buy a refurbished fob for $29.95 from http://www.carandtruckremotes.com/2005-toyota-corolla-remote.html and it comes with the programming steps. But I think the steps are probably the same ones on the oscartrapp link, above. Those steps even work for the Matrix and Vibe. http://matrixowners.com/index.php?showtopic=68920

You can also check for a blown fuse, but the fuses are hard to find. I never had to tackle that, because the reprogramming worked for me. If it is not a bad battery in the fob, not a programming issue, and not a bad fuse, then I think you have to pay someone to put a diagnostic computer on the car. There is a transponder amplification module that can go bad. But you are probably not going to have to go that far.

Good luck. I know from experience that this is very frustrating.

Where is the bcm program fuse on a 2005 pontiac montana sv6

The BCM program fuse on a 2005 Montanna SV6 is called something different in the manual. It's called a “Keyless Entry Module” fuse and it is fuse #7. The fuse panel is located on the passenger side on the side of the dash. There is a cover with an indent hole in it to pull the fuse cover off. It's really hard to pull it off and it almost seems like your going to break it when your trying to get if off. Keep pulling, it will come off! On the fuse cover, fuse #7 is labeled " RFA MDLS" which is again different than what is in the manual. I followed the procedure to reprogram my "Key Fob" and within 45secs, I had reprogrammed my key FOB! I was so excited, because, I have been trying locate the BCM fuse for 4 weeks. I think GMC does not want us to know it’s location or name, so you would have to go into a dealership to get your Key Fobs reprogrammed costing about a $100 for a minute of work.

1. Keep the windows open as a safety measure, then,
2. Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
3. Remove the “RFA MDLS” (fuse #7 ,BCM PRGRM fuse, Keyless Entry fuse) from the fuse panel.
4. Close all of the doors.
5. Close the liftgate.
6. Turn the ignition lock cylinder to ACC.
7. Turn the ignition lock cylinder to OFF, and then back to ACC within 1 second.
8. Open and close any vehicle door. A chime will be heard when the system enters the BCM programming/diagnostic mode.
9. Press and hold the transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 14 seconds.
10. Important
After 7 seconds, a chime may be heard confirming successful programming.
11. Repeat the previous step on each additional transmitter to be programmed.
12. Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder
13. Install the “RFA MDLS” fuse ( fuse #7 ,BCM PRGRM fuse, Keyless Entry fuse) back into the fuse panel.
14. Press on the key fob functions (EG. Lock, Unlock) to verify correct operation.
