I did a tune up and my jeep starts but will not stay running it seem like there is no fuel I don't know if it the fuel pump or filter. what can i do to fix it.

Did this run before the tuneup did you cross wires check your firing order and sparkplug gap

You will have to buy a fuel pressure guage and be sure it is within spec, it is not uncommon for a fuel pump to fail on these trucks also you might as well change the filter at the same time but this will not cause this problem before replacing it be sure the pump is getting power and ground and make sure the pressure is good please rate -jeff

Park jeep overnight and now it won't start, changed fuel filter and relay checked fuel pump which worked fine, the problem is that it will crank over but that's it, you don't hear the fuel pump kick on,...


sometimes the neutral safety switch goes out and thus it doesn't start... I had that go out in my 96 jeep cherokee sport 4x4... changed the fuel pump out and then found out... I had it changed so I don't know how to do that part.... anyway hope that helps

05 jeep grand cherokee, starter works, when i use starting fluid, will run for a few seconds, but wont stay running


The engine is not getting gas. Check fuel pump fuse and relay. If ok could be bad fuel pump.

Check the fuel injectors and rails for clogging or maybe a seized up ECU. my only other thought is that your throttle position sensor may be shot.

does your jeep run rough? idle is real low? and when you are driving and push the gas hard it doesnt want to move? if so it is most likely the mass air flow sensor. i had to replace that 2 or 3 times on my 1999 jeep cherokee
