SOURCE: i am doing a head gasket setting alignment

you will find two bright links on the chain that correspond to the dots on the cam shaft and the key ways on both cams should line up with the top of the head facing back towards the firewall IE parallel with the top surface of the head ( where the tappet cover bolts on), with the crank on TDC (top dead center)

SOURCE: how hard is it to replace a head gasket on a hyundai lantra

Most head gaskets are straight forward. If you can replace one on a front wheel drive Ford you can replace about any front wheel drive head gasket. The only difference would be where the bolts are to remove the intake and exhaust. After that everything else is about the same. The best advice i can give is take time to read a manual like Haynes. They have manuals for just about every vehicle on the market.

Overheating problem for 1996 Hyundai lantra sportswagon

If you have already checked the radiator, fluids, thermostat, and thermo fans and your 1996 Hyundai Lantra Sportswagon is still overheating, there could be other issues causing the problem. Here are a few other things you can check:
  1. Water pump: The water pump is responsible for circulating coolant through the engine and radiator. If the water pump is not functioning properly, it can cause the engine to overheat.
  2. Head gasket: The head gasket seals the cylinder head to the engine block. If the head gasket is damaged or fails, it can allow coolant to leak into the engine, which can cause the engine to overheat.
  3. Cylinder head: If the cylinder head is cracked or damaged, it can cause the engine to overheat.
  4. Engine block: If the engine block is damaged or has a crack, it can cause the engine to overheat.
  5. Clogged radiator: If the radiator is clogged with debris, it can prevent the coolant from flowing properly and cause the engine to overheat.
To determine the cause of the overheating problem, it will be necessary to perform a thorough inspection of the engine and related components. If you are unable to locate the source of the problem or are not comfortable attempting to fix it yourself, it is recommended to have the vehicle inspected by a professional mechanic.

How do you replace a head gasket on a 1998 Hyundai Accent? What are the bolt torque settings for the engine head of a 1998 Hyundai Accent? My Accent blew its head gasket a few weeks ago but the engine...

This is a major repair requiring the complete disassembly of the top end of the motor. I'd recommend at least that you purchase the appropriate repair manual from Chilton, Haynes etc before you attempt this.

I need the cylinder head torque settings for 1997

1998 Hyundai Lantra "G4GM" engine 1795cc.there are two heads or blocks, one is called the M10, other is the M12, figure out which one you have cause the torque is different for stage one by 5nm........... Dont get confused theres 2 different engines so 2 different torques for stage1---------
heres the full details: Stage 1 - m10 = 30nm / m12 = 35nm-------------------------- -------- Stage 2 - tighten by 60-65 degrees ------------ stage 3 - tighten by 60-65 degrees. no sequence is given in the data book for tightening so go off what you thinks right, it doesn't matter on this engine.

What is the average cost to replace a radiator in a 1997 Hyundai lantra. Are these low maintainence second hand cars?

Depending on the mileage of the car! Lantra can be a 'high maitenence' car. has it overheated due to the radiator leaking? They blow the head gasket fairly easily! aslo front struts seize. If engine hasnt had regular servicing they sludge up and wear out engine components, engine becomes very tappety and may eventually fail. It all depends if it has been cared for. hopes this helps.
