The sensors are under the intake like the other post stated. Be sure to use OEM GM knock sensors because I just had both of mine replaced and the service engine light came back on. Called dealership and they said to use GM sensors and I did. Light went off an has not come back on. I have a 2001 Suburban 2500 with the 6.0 engine.

You have 2 of them on that vehicle and both of them are located under the intake manifold.

I cant locate the knock sensor where do i find it?

There are 2 knock sensors located below the upper intake manifold. With the intake removed follow wires to the middle of engine near the front and back. The sensors are recessed in the lower valley pan and covered by some type of insulating material. The rear sensor usually fails due to water working past the insulating material and filling the hole with water and covering the sensor, causing it to rust. Remember to replace the upper intake gaskets and injector o-rings. You dont want any other driveabiliy issues after this repair.
