THere is definately a grounding problem, Try looking to see if there are any exposed wiring in the doors, or even near the fuse box under driver side dash.

How to find an electrical disturbance in 1998 ford expedition

Normally this condition is the result of a poor body ground connection. Testing for this can be deceiving. At the static(nothing on) condition, testing can show a good ground. However when a circuit is excited, it has a determined resistance and a set current flow. If the ground connection to this or a branch circuit is loose, corroded, or broken wire. This will allow just enough connection to show as being good, but not good enough to complete the circuit with the required amount of connection when energized.

How to pinpoint and fix electrical disturbance in 1998 expedition?

Could be the ignition switch itself. Under the hood where all the wires go into the fusebox in the cab is a good pkace to start. You need to take the bolt/nut off and pull the box and wires apart. I have seen fuse blocks heavily corroded and cause problems as you are haveing. Also could be the ecm (aka)computer in your car is going bad. You can get a remanufactured one cheap. And it is simple and strait forward

Security light is on in a 99silverado

The security light is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most
GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you
put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security
chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module).
These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending
signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second.
When the signal breaks, the car misinterperates this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode.
The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key.
This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. Remember too, the TDM controls the
security light. Sometimes you can have ALL the symptoms and no lights. This link explains it pretty well.

Hi. i have chevy venture 2000. i park at home & accidently my brother try to start the car with non programm key. security lock appear. no i try to start my car with original key it wont work. just...

Put the original key in the ignition and let it remain there for 15 minutes, then try to start the vehicle. If that does not work, then the only solution is to have the system replace at a dealership for $1000, or install a bypass system. The only bypass system on the market that really works is from the following website. http://newrockies.ca/vapsbypass. Good luck. I hope this helps.

Cannot get the key out of the ignition

Try lightly wiggling the shifter lever up past park. This usually helps.
Otherwise you can lightly tap around ignition with a ballpean hammer to knock the pins loose.

Most GM vehicles are touch. You can grab shifter and press up past park and ignition will turn

Van will not start at all and no ligths on my dash

you could have a short in your ignition switch that is why even the keys is out of the switch, still electric windows runs and regarding headlights, the headlights switch could have shorted too that;s why you can not turn it off.

tnx 4 using fixya,
