The rotoating contact for the horn is defective, you must remove the steering wheel to access and replace it.

2001 VW Bug Horn was randomly honking, Now it wont work at all. Relays and Fuses are good. Should I just replace the horn itself? Not quite sure whats the issue.Want to figure out before making drive

it the horn activates randomly when driving and when the steering wheel is moved , the problem will be the ground contact under the steering wheel
there is a small spring loaded button that runs on a slip ring in the back of the steering wheel and intermittent/ random operation can be traced back to a fault in this area
the horn works so it is good , the fuses and relays are working to make the horn work so they are good ( unless there is a grounding problem with the relay causing the relay to operate and blow the horn)

WHY DOES THE HORN ON MY 1995 TOYOTA CAMARY ONLY WORK WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS FULLY TURNED TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT AND NOT WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS STRAIGHT AHEAD

pull the steering wheel and check the wear ring under the wheel that the brass contact plunger runs on
it is possible that for the straight ahead position the ring is worn away

Toyota prius 2010 Horn is not working when steering wheel straight. But it is working

Most likely an issue integral to the horn pad. The air bag/horn pad assembly will need to be removed for inspection of contacts and wiring connections

Horn works when pressed at 90 degree turn to right or left but NOT when car is driving straight line at 12 oclock

There is a copper wheel with a copper pin the rides on the wheel. Sounds like the copper wheel is dirty or warn out. taking the steering wheel off and underneath the steering wheel out will find the mechanism there.

I have a 2004 malibu--the horn works some times--maybe when I turn the corner, on the highway going straight--it will not work--took to firestone, they want to charge me 300.00 for a part--do you know why ...

whith the engine running and the vehicle parked bush on the steering wheel to activate the horn while rotating the steering wheel at the same time. If the horn beeps at certain points in the steering wheels rotation than either the clock spring has gone bad or the horn contact button has gone bad in the multi-function switch.

1995 Prizm Horn Problem

keep the steering wheel in one spot, do not rotate,  check horn by pressing pad in different areas.  If it is intermittent then horn pad is concern.  If it works well trying slowly turning steering wheel while pressing horn pad if there is a point in turning the wheel where horn becomes inop, then the common fault is the horn contact ring inside of the steering column

Left running lamps, cruise control, horn do not operat and air bag dash light on

Hello. Is your ABS light on?Do you hear a click noise when you turn the steering wheel? If it is,you probably have a faulty clockspring. That electronic piece controls all of those things. The clockspring is located behind the steering wheel. You have to remove the steering wheel in order to access the clockspring. MAKE SURE that the steering wheel is straight ahead before you remove it.
