Question about 1994 Chevrolet Lumina

Engine runs rough and then stalls after gets to operating tempature. Sometimes will not start back up until sits a few minutes. It is a 1994 3.1m chevy lumina.

Year make and model? it could be the fuel pump.. Could be other things also. How long does it run until it stalls? At what speeds? Does it act up at higher speeds?

Check the ECU engine temperature sensor. If it thinks the engine is hot, it will struggle to run when cold.

P1000 is not exactly a trouble code, but rather a fact code that means the system has not been run long enough to get into a full test mode.
There could be a problem with the computer, or something that is keeping the system from going into closed loop where the computer uses all data from the sensors to control the engine.
For example, if the thermostat does not let the engine reach normal operating temp, or the car is driven on short trips, the system may not go into closed loop.

Volvo 740 1991 stall

I own a 1992 740 and have been through the stalling issue. Tried everything mentioned in other suggestions. Expensive and aggravating. Finally turned out to be the spark module. My Volvo has the Rex/Regina engine management system and the module sits on the left front fender. The wire to the distributor is very long and runs to the bottom of the distributor. As a start I would check and clean all wires leading to and from the coil module. Sometimes the high voltage lead gets dirty or corroded. Remove each connector plug (one at a time) spray a little contact cleaner, re-insert it a couple of times. Sometimes just turning the high voltage lead will clean it a little.
Also check to be sure the manifold pressure module is properly connected. It has a thin vacuum hose running from the module (on the driver's side inner fender near the firewall) to the top of the intake manifold. If that hose is loose or disconnected, car will run rough and stall.

I have a 2000 ford explorer sport 4.0L OHV, in the mornings when first started it runs real rough until it goes through its cycle of runing rough then it cleats up and runs ok. Then when u park it after...

Here are the most common causes of idle surge, rough idle esp when cold, other symptoms include stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake
