2008 Honda Civic si

Check engine light and VSA lights are on. I got the codes ran and it says its the throttle position sensor. I wired subs up and pulled some fuses but they all seem to be fine. Is there andything that could have thrown this code or does the throttle body just need replaced?

i have the same problem and code although my situation is a bit different i have a 2007 civic si sedan and i run some after market parts one of them is a aem fuel ignition controller (f.i.c.). i was running it anyway it came with a plug and play harness. i wired it in just to check the harness and ran with it for a couple of weeks with no problems. then the vsa and check engine light came on. so i took off the harness and the light came off so i checked the harness for shorts and found no shorts in the harness so i put it back on the lights came on with it (without the f.i.c. installed and just the harness). so i took off the harness again and the lights went off too. i ran with it like that for about a month with no problems and thought it was solved. then the lights came on again (without the harness on) and went off again on its own in a week. this problem hits me about every month. my next try is going to be an upgrade on the power supply to create a smoother electrical signal will that help and if not what will.

Go to any auto parts store and you can use the meter to see what code it comes up with, The meter has the codes on it and will tell you why the check engine light is coming on.

Somehow it is effecting the TPS (Throttle position sensor) This is the only input to go to third to fouth and not seeing the proper gear change VSA light appears.

You can replace the TPS without replacing the whole throttle body.
The TPS is held in by rivets instead of screws. Just use a hacksaw to carefully cut slots in the top of the rivets so you can use a screwdriver to back them out. When you put the new TPS in just use standard screws. Thanks

Thanks for the info... that fixed the problem with the VSA light going on. The error code had nothing to do with the VSA system. Error code said I was low on oil. The dealer I brought it to said the VSA system will not work when you are low on oil. When the VSA warning light comes on, you loose 80% of your engine power because of it. They changed the oil and I have not had the VSA warning light go on since.

My Honda Element 2008 has a VSA Warning light and

It may be as simple as your oil condition or oil level. If you have poor oil in your engine the VTEC system will not operate properly and when RPMs reach 2800 or so it will buck. If everything checks okay with the oil have the code checked for your check engine light/VSA light.

2004 Honda Civic -Code P0122 Throttle Position Sensor Voltage Low

yes, this is the case of a failed throttle body, in which case it needs replaced, the car is getting too much fuel causing the high idle. this needs replaced asap. you could proably find a small independant honda shop that could do the work for less.

1991 honda civic si starting problem

have you check the ground wire from your negative wire to battery post? check to see the battery is strong. if it doesn't turn over the engine or crank the engine mean no good ground to the cables. if the car ran fine I dont understand why the car wont crank or turn the motor over it just quit. if the battery check out strong 12 V, starter serenoid may be faulty on your starter or it may be hot and will not turn starter over.

This code is not documented so the code reader is giving a false reading.
If the car runs OK and check engine light is not on, I would forget about it.
