Cant pass emissions,i need at least one of the not ready status to become ready status out of the oxygen senson, evaporative system, catalyst

drive it. I am betting you have recently "cleared" codes which also clears readiness monitors in an attempt to better control people cheating the system. After enough drive cycles are reached the monitors will pass if nothing is wrong and turn to ready. If the problem that the codes implicated where not fixed than the check engine light will again come back on and you will again fail your attempt to pass emissions.

Drive it for a week or so and see what happens.

Hi , I just bought a 2004 Xterra w no plates. I cant register it without an emissions test. One garage did the test and it failed.

you probably can find a tech to do this for you but keep in mind that you will be paying for however long it takes for all the drive cycles to run.

Tune-up?

You realize tune-ups ended 25 years ago

They only install spark plugs, there hasn't been
any tuning in decades, that is what the cars computer
sort of does.

Monitorers are not ready yet drove for 90 miles still saying not ready emission systems monitor failed no indicator lights coming on if it is computer system chip what would it cost to repair

It takes more than a specific mileage to set monitors. It can take up to 2 weeks for all conditions to be met for the monitors to be run.

Check engine light came on and the owners manual refers to it as a emissions control problem. The vehicle only has 38000 mi. What could be wrong?

You can expect the check engine light to come on, on any vehicle when it gets close to 40,000 mi. The emission system has to do with the pollution control. There are several sensors that monitor your engines performance. You can still drive the vehicle, it may just not get good gas mileage or you may notice something about the engines performance. I've drove several months before actually having something done. A good garage will have a scanner and can tell you what sensor is acting up. It usually cost around $60 - $70 just to have it checked out. I had an old work van that I drove for years with the light on.

Emision control does not pass inspection, vaporative system, and secondary air system not ready.

has the battery been disconnected, drained, or computer codes been cleared? all of these will erase readiness monitors in the computer and will have to be driven to reset it's hard to say how far because it varies on different vehicles

My 03 Focus has failed emissions 5 times now...same codes as always. It's failed every year, and ive reset and driven and passed. now, fail.

By failed Emmissions you mean it failed inspection? If this is the case you got some bad gas somewhere. If you ever had the vehicle in Europe then you most likely will need to have the exhaust system replaced as they test from the tail pipe. This could also be the Catylitic converter. If you are talking about the check engine light going off it is most likely an O2 Sensor that needs replaced.
