I have a 96 explorer xlt v6 has alarm that works thru the horns. the horns quit working checked fuses in dash no burnt ones looked for horns or horn under hood could not locate where they were. doug

The horns are located on the left side of the radiator
support. To check them, use a jumper wire from the
+post on the battery unplug the horn and touch the
wire to the horn contact. If it toots check the horn relay in the power dist. box on the left fender. Also
check fuse #4 a 20amp fuse in the same dist box.
But if the horn won't toot replace the horn. If none of
the things I've mentioned pan out. You can get back
to us and we'll dig a little deeper. Good luck.

Where is the horn located on a 1998 ford explorer

The horn is usually between the radiator and grill Assembly. The fuse is in fuse panel under the dash on the drivers side. Look at the lid and it shows the fuse placement and there use.

Can you tell me where to find the horn on the front end of a 1997 Ford Explorer. I have looked under, over and behind everything under the hood and cannot locate it.

the horn has a fuse and it needs to be changed so just go under where the fuses are and change it.the fuse is on the right side 2nd one down and then take it out and change it to 30A. Now there is a fuse box under the hood and also one in side. you need to go to the fuse box that is in side.\

Replaced relays and ckecked fuses horn not working 1996explorer

with the horn you can run a wire from the battery to the horn to check it if that dosent work then it is probably the contact wire inside the steering column, I cant remember the name of the part but this should fix the horn and cruise problem.
