DASH LIGHTS DON'T COME ON

hi, gm vech. are elec.complex with logic that is all there own. im a retired ford tech, and gm would drive me crazy sometimes. now some ideas, your dash light are controlled with an ecm, keep in mind, your dashlights and tail lights are on the same circut. i would check your batt. cables, if your ground cable has a high resistance it could cause issues. in fords they had bad dimmer switches that would cause the same issue. if you have someone with an obd2scanner it might have a code.hope that helps.

just on the dash right....... because your dash lights turned on and it changes the brightness of the dash lights, try rolling the little wheel down on the left and see if there is a change?

on the other hand if the outside blinker light fails to work at night the bulb might be burned out you should check it and the dash light might not work if bulb is burned
just turn on the lights turn on the key and blinker and go look?

The tail lights are usually on the same fuse as your dash lights. Check to see if you have tail lights. If they are on and it's only your dash lights that don't work, check the dash dimmer switch for a fault.

try turning the headlight knob left to right several times, and jiggle the switch at night. Also check your fuse panel should be a 10 amp or less fuse that says "Insr" or something like it.

No tail lights and no dash lights together means it's time for a new headlight switch. Hope this helps.

could the sensor be bad, dirty or have something sitting on it? I had this happen to me.

Mine did the same, the switch behind the knob itself that you pull to turn the lights on....i replaced that, got the part on ebay for like 15 bucks got it shipped had to remove the dash which takes a moment ...

I had the same problem.  IN the middle of the night the lights would flash on and off and the dash gauges would flutter back and forth.  It seemed to correspond to low voltages when my battery was going bad.  I replaced the battery and the problem didn't occur again.

Look for a plug in relay in the fuse box under the hood.

have you by accident turned down the bright and dim switch near the head light? probably you were cleaning the car interior and might have shut it downcheck the dimmer switc by the head light seitch
