Question about 1994 Lexus GS 300

1 Answer

Oil in the spark plugs

This model comes with a strait six. It has two valve covers that are narrow and they cover the top of the U shaped head. They don't go down to the plug holes. In the center are the plug holes, that look like they are part of the head, and it looks like the plug holes don't have wells. The head has a black center cover that has a gasket around it and the plug wires ran on top of the U head.

Need to replace spark plugs in daewoo lanos

You first need to pull the plastic cover off the valve cover (top of motor) you will see 4 plug wires going strait into the top of the engines valve cover, carefully wiggle and twist and pull on each plug boot then use a 3/8" drive 5/8" spark plug socket and a 6" extension to access the spark plugs. Tip: If you leave the rubber gripper inside the plug socket it may be difficult to retrieve socket from new plug.

You need a new Valve Cover Gasket. The rubber seals around the spark plug holes on the Valve Cover are leaking. A new Valve Cover Gasket will come with the round gaskets that seal the spark plug hole.

I have a 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5L that is leaking oil into the spark plug tubes; can these seals be replaced or does the valve cover have to be replaced?

Yes, you need a Rocker cover (valve cover) Gasket kit. Remove the valve cover, remove all old O-rings and cover gasket, clean grooves and mating surfaces without gouging or scratching them, put the new gaskets on as per factory recommendations, tighten to the proper torque and you're done. The spark plug holes in the cover are part of the valve cover gasket kit. Any Napa, Car Quest, Pep Boys, Auto Zone will have it.

Head Gasket?? Valve cover Gasket???

most likely it is the valve cover gasket. it covers the valve train where there is alot of oil to lube the top of the motor. if the head gasket was leaking it may have more signs of running poorly. also having coolant leaks also. so i will have to say valve cover gasket. now usally you may have a oil burning smell with it depending on the area of the lek but not always.

the valve cover can easily be seen when the hood is open. it is right on the top and where it meets the clyinder head is where the gasket is and the leak can be seen.

if you have more question please ask.

Spark plugs

you can see the spark plug wires( front 4) on the valve cover where you put oil in the engine. they have a T shaped head that you twist back and forth while pulling up on them. The spark plugs can be removed with a spark plug socket and extension. The rear 4 plugs are in the valve cover by the firewall.

one of these or both can leak, if tube is tight in head it may not be leaking the top seal is

Oil around spark plugs on 1992 honda accord

Yes the oil can cause the car to lose spark, the oil leak could be caused by the valve cover gaskets around the spark openings, but 9 times out of 10 it is the spark plug tube "O" rings. The top of the valve train comes off of the head, the "O" rings are between the two halves, that will fix the oil leak.

Spark plugs

Who ever told you it was the Valve cover gaskets was correct. On the valve cover gasket around where the spark plug goes down though the head there is a seal made onto the valve cover gasket called the spark plug well seals. when replacing the valve cover gasket it will come with these seals and it will take care of your oil leaking into spark plug holes. Hope this has helped and if you need anymore assistance I would love to help.
