I would contact your insurance company, and see what their policy is.
If they are the "go-between" or if they deal with it direct.

Contact them, and provide the case info from the police. They can usually dig deeper then a private individual. They are going to be very happy to help since they didn't have to pay for replacement of the car.

Pcm was stolen at repair shop. put re-maned one and had it programed to vehicle.now it wont stay running and has a miss. ran like new prior,,had trans replaced

Bought a bad PCM? Wrong one? Just got a PCM, it was for a 3.4 engine. They told the manager it would work for a 3.8. I told the manager it won't. Had to hook it up and prove it to the manager. Security was the first issue, then the transmission would be the next. I didn't even make it pass the security. A 3.4 PCM will run the 3.8 engine, with other computers replaced. But will not run the transmission correctly. And this is our problem. I told the manager to inform the customer that they had the wrong PCM. I also told him to give the car back. Then told him I could fix it, but needed PCM,BCM, Ignition switch, key and chip, from one junk car.

I have bmw.e60 with missing compliance plate rang bmw australia and I was told one was fitted as new car bmw who sold the car said it left there as a new car without one what can I do

I would be very suspicious that the vehicle is kosher ( not stolen) as that would explain why there is no compliance plate to you. Check with the regulator authorities and do a history check on the vehicle as you may be in passion of a stolen vehicle.

Now if it is a good deal the I would contact BMW Australia and find out the procedure for getting a replacement plate for the vehicle.as it may have simply fallen of.

Turn ignition key and there is no lights and it will not start. the car had been stolen and the ignition tampered with and damaged. the car worked yesterday and today it is dead., please revive asap!

The fact that the ignition was possibly damaged when the car was stolen may or may not have something to do with your problem., but If you want to test the circuit, you can run a fairly heavy INSULATED wire between your pos. battery post and the SMALL terminal on the solenoid (just touch the end to the solenoid). If the starter turns, you may have a ignition switch, neutral start switch, or some other wiring problem. If the starter does not turn (or if the solenoid doesn't even click) I would think that you need to check the battery charge.
Hope this is helpful.
