Some of the tauruses you have to remove part of the exhaust..Make sure you look to see if you have clearance..If you cant get it out you can still get the gasket on while it in the vehicle..Pay attention to the torque,,make sure you do it correctly..

We change the oil pan gasket due to oil leak; after we finish changing the oil pan gasket we start the car & we hear a knocking noise, what do we have to do?

If it is the 3.0 you may have heard the lifters. but sometime when you leave an oil pan off for very long you will lose your prime from your oil pump and it will take an few sec to get primed. how long did you let it run for. did the the knocking go away

How to replace oil pan gasket?

Very easy, dirty, messy, job. Grab few item from auto zone. Such as rtv sealant gasket itself, a blade or something to remove the old gasket. 4-8 quarts of oil 10w40 synthetic. Oil filter oil filter remover socket set. Run car for 5 minutes. Drain oils. Recycle it... Dart removing the screws around the oil pan. Once remove clean the surface remove the old gasket with shart razor blade make sure do not damage the surface where the gasket go. The gasket go between the oil pan and the engine mating surface . Clean the pan and clear as much gunk you can out the pump opening or tube. put rtv sealant ( some don't need the gasket because they r the gasket.) place gasket putt screw back it. Change filter refill the car with oil ( 4-8 depending on engine size) That's it.

Cant get oil pan to drop on 2000 ford taurus and what is rear engine plate

I think what you mean by rear plate is the plate next to the oil pan that covers part of bell housing and fly wheel. You take it off right after you take off the starter. To get the oil pan off on this Taurus is a huge job I just had to do it about three weeks ago on my wifes car the oil pan gasket needed changed. It took me a couples of days. The hardest part of the whole job was taking off the exhaust and y pipe with the catalytic converters attached to them and the heat shields that cover them. Once you finally get the bolts off the flanges attached to the manifold it still is a pain in the *** to wiggle it out from under the car. The O2 sensors on the down stream side need removed. If you need any data sheets or diagrams for your car just let me know

My 2003 ford taurus has oil pan gasket leak just

All you have to do is get under the car with a 1/2" drive ratchet, 3" extension, an extension swivel, and the socket for the bolts on the oil pan. Go through all the bolts and tighten them all up. You will be surprised at how loose some of them are.

I am going to attemp to change the tranny fluid in my '92 Taurus. Where is the drain plug underneath and is it true that it takes 12.8 quarts of fluid? Is there anything else I should know before I start?

well first theres no plug to drain fluid, you will have to remove the trany pan, the pan gasket and filter need to be replaced, next thing is that it doesnt hold 12.8 qts, thats only if it was dry empty, just dropping the pan doesnt get all the oil out, the converter is still full and the lines and cooler,i would replace the filter and pan gasket then take to a garage and have a bg trany service done, this service gets 100% of the old oil out, your doing a drain and fill, this only takes about 6 qts, good luck.

How to remove oil pan from 1994 olds acheiva

raise car, remove any obstruction from out of the way of the oil pan. if you arent pulling the motor it will mean you need to drop the front k member. after that remove all bolts from pan, pry it off with a putty knife, remove old gasket with razor knife, reapply gasket, possibly adding RTV silicone if your car needs it. reverse all other steps and you are clear. unless you know for sure its just the oil pan leaking i would suggest changing front and rear main seals on the crank as well.
