SOURCE: 2001 gmc jimmy keeps kicking into 4 wheel drive

the 4 wheel low light will usually only blink because the low gear is meant for a very slow speed and usually wont activate with the vehicle in motion i would have to say the sudden switch to 4x4 though would probably be a short in the wiring some place

Why does the light in the center of my 4 wheel drive lights kepp blinking

I researched this problem and it seems that it can be either a switch or sensor located on the transfer case that may be bad or corroded. Northern extreme temperature changes, and road salt cause cracking and corrosion with plastic connections and wiring. I have used PEP BOYS for electrical diagnosis, they offer mechanical diagnosis also if you have other problems. Price ranges from $50 to $99 in Florida depending on where you live it can either be more or less but it is alot cheaper than taking it to a regular garage. Since it depends on who or where you had your car serviced, I can not know exactly where your problem originates only a location. Also a ( TSB or Technical Service Bulletin) might be available from Mitsubishi listing the issue. If you are mechanically inclined after finding the problem you can replace the part youself, repair videos are on YOUTUBE. If you are not then find a good quality mechanic and always do your homework before purchasing.
Good luck and be safe.

I have a pajero io 3 doors, model 2000. the light for 2W/4WD is always blinking (the upper 2 lights). i dont know why it come like this, i need ur suggestion for this

Hi, you will need to take it to mitsubishi dealer and have them scan. But it sounds like o ring in 4 wheel drive has busted. Does it still go in and out of 2 and 4 wheel drive? If it does it is safe to drive with blinking...if not it may do alot of damage.

Four wheel drive lite is blinking and wont go out

Hi, You will need to take to mitsubishi dealer and have them scan your diagnostics. But this is a common thing in montero's and it sounds like o ring (which is plastic) in transfer case has busted. As long as it switches in and out of 4 wheel drive it is ok to drive. If it doesn't, dont drive it...it could cause alot of damage.
