Sounds like you are missing a good ground.

Here's something to try. There should be a single black wire on the connector for the master window switch. this is the ground for all the windows. check for power by back probing that wire with the connector plugged into the switch and a window switch in either the up or down position. If you see 12 volts than the ground is bad. Use a jumper wire from that wire to a known good ground. If the windows start working than you will need to trace that wire to find the break. The most common would be in the harness in between the door and the body of the car.

If you don't see 12 volts with a switch in the up or down than remove both connectors from the switch. test continuity between the pin that the black wire goes to an any pin that the 8 wire connector plugs into. There should be continuity. If there isn't that the master switch is bad.

If you have any question let me know.

What causes a power window on a 2001 durango to go down but not back up

Possible bad window switch. If the window motor were bad, or if power was not getting to the switch, the window wouldn't work at all. The switch should be tested for correct operation. Remove the switch and apply 12 volts to the power terminal of the switch. Then toggle the switch and use a 12 volt test light to confirm continuity on the up and down terminals. If it is defective, replace it with a new switch.

My window on a 2006 dodge ram 2500 mega cab will not go up but role down

these should be the correct wire colors
light blue wire and a white wire drivers side
brown/white wire and puple white passanger side
meter these wires at the drivers side switch these wires should meter +12 volts in on direction either up or down and -12 volts in the other direction either up or down
Example: put the red probe on the light blue wire and the black probe on the white wire throw the switch in the up direction you shpuld get a reading of +12 volts and if you throw the switch in the down position you should get -12 volts. if the switch is in the nuteral position it wont give out voltage.
if voltage is not present in when you flip the switch then the switch is bad and you will need to replace it.
if voltage is present your motor or motors transmission is bad. sometimes the motor is connected to the transmission and when swaping out the motor you have to swap out the transmission too. most of the times you can seperate these two.
the reason you window will go down and not up might be beacuse the wieght of the window pulls the window down but the transmission is broken and the motor alone cannot lift the window up.
hope this helps.

2002 Impala driver's window stuck down, seems like bad regulator as all other windows still work. Would like to know how to manually get window up so I have some security until I have time to take it...

If it's electric it could be the motor too,, remove the inside door panel, to get access to the inside of the door,, once in,, look for the 2 wires that hook up to the window motor, unplug the connector, and supply the motor with 12volts DC from an outside source, Like jumper cables with jumper wires with alligator clips, if it works its the regulator, or possibly the window relay for that door, if its a manual window, ( hand crank, your going to have to replace the regulator to get the window up, you could unhook the window from this, But keeping the window up could be a problem

How to make your car power window work when removed car battery.

the power window has a motor in it which requires 12 volts to work. when you remove the battery there is no source of 12 volts unless you have the engine running and the alternator is putting out electricity. so the power window will just not work. your house lights don't work when you unplug them, same principle at work here.

Passenger power window does not work 2002 Silverado HD Ext Cab

REMOVE THE DOOR PANEL TO GET TO THE WINDOW MOTOR. REMOVE THE CONNECTOR ON THE MOTOR. LOOP A TEST LIGHT FROM BOTH TERMINALS. WITH THE KEY ON AND BOTH SWITCHES IN PLACE, CHECK TO OPERATION OF THE SWITCHES. IF THE LIGHT COMES ON IN BOTH DIRECTION THE WINDOW MOTOR IS BAD.

THERE IS A CIRCUIT BREAKER BUILT INTO THE WINDOW MOTOR. SOMETIME HITTING THE MOTOR WITH MAKE THE CIRCUIT BREAKER RESET BUT THE MOTOR WONT LAST LONG DOING THAT.

ALSO TRY PULLING DOWN ON THE WINDOW WHILE TRYING THE SWITCHES. THE WINDOW COULD JUST BE STUCK. THIS HAPPENED TO ME.

Drivers side automatic window will not go back up

Take the door panel off unplug the motor push the window button see if you have 12 volts. If you do look for the ground wire for this motor if it is ok and you have 12 volts the motor is probably bad

2002 chevy impala wipers not parking

Court, With the wiper switch off and the ignition switch in the "run" position, disconnect the wiring connector at the wiper motor. With a multimeter or test light, verify you have 12 volts on the yellow wire. Then check to make sure you have a good ground on the black wire.
If both of those check OK, the wiper motor has a logic board under the cover of the wiper motor, it is most likely bad.
Good luck, let me know.

Problem with power windows

Does it work from the back window controls? Or regardless of location, windows don't roll down. If it's the first one, then I'd suspect the window controller in the front door is malfunctioning or the wiring headed to the back door. If it's the second option, you should remove your door panel and check the motor. Unplug the plug for the motor and either use a volt meter (or a 12volt test light if you don't have that...it's cheap) and operate the window switch. If you are getting 12 volts or the light lights, you know the motor is the problem. Let me know if you need to know how to pull the door panel off.
