I took my 98 T&C to a repair shop to fix the emergency brake. The battery died and they recharged the battery. After they started it the remote start wouldn't work and the rear sliding doors and the rear cargo door door lock actuators would start chattering while driving. When I stop and turn off the vehicle the door acuators keep chattering until I turn the key back on turn it to start and they quit. When I start it back up they are fine until I start driving. Then the door locks engage and the chattering starts until I get where I'm going. iS THERE ANYWAY TO TURN OFF THIS PART OF THE SYSTEM AND JUST USE THE KEY. cHRYSLER CLAIMS IT'S THE ACTUATORS (RESETABLE FUSES) THAT ARE THE PROBLEM. THEY WANT $200 FOR EACH ACTUATOR AND $150 DOLLARS TO INSTALL.

This may or may not help. Hopefully it will. We recently purchased this 1998 chrysler town & country. Everything was working fine, started fine, etc. we took it to get emissions done.....passed emissions.. .made it home. i turned the car off to run inside for a minute. came back out car started.. ran for 3 seconds than died out. tried again... ran for 3 seconds than died out... after that it no longer would do anything. all the lights worked except in the ignition module. the top dashboard lights worked though. I then noticed that the "alarm set" light stayed lit. after replacing fuses and running an OBD test and found no trouble codes or issues with fuses it dawned on me it may be the alarm. after searching the internet for hours i found a forum that suggested unplugging the battery for about 5 minutes....rehook it and then try starting it again. well i tried doing that the first time using the REMOTE to unlock the doors and nothing happened. i locked the doors and repeated the same battery unhook-rehook process except without using the remote... (i noticed a lot of forums saying that the remotes can be deffective in that they somehow trigger the alarm if the transmitter is not working properly)... so after unhooking and rehooking the battery and using only the key to unlock it started right up! so i've decided to not use the remote at all and have had no other problems. let me know if this helps

Car unlocked but it sets the alarm ... car locked alarm goes for no obvious reason s type 4 liter.

Are you using the the keychain to lock unlock the vehicle? A low battery in the keychain will send wacky codes to your vehicle alarm system and will not set properly. Try using the key in the door to lock unlock vehicle. IF the alrm does not go off when using the key in the door, then you probably have to change the battery in the key chain. Best guess without being there to look at vheicle.

My 1996 nissan maxima alrm has been triggered. i dont have a door key or a key fab. how do i start my car?

You will have to use a key to turn one of the door locks or the trunk lock, in order to turn off the factory security system, which will then allow the car to start. If it's an aftermarket alarm you have installed in your car, you will have to consult the user manual for that particular alarm in order to disarm it.

Factory alarm disabled starter, How do I reset it without remote

it probably isnt a factory alartm it most likly a dealer installed after market alarm or one of those chip type starter locks.look under dash for a little connector looking thing with wiers going to it NOT THE TRAPAZOIDAL CONNECTOR if it has that one you will have to reconnct the start wire that was cut to allow the thing to work [add on thing has failed] or look for wires that are not in neat order with splices to various things and a plastic box usually zip tied somewere under there. repair cut during installation start wire.
if it were a factory alrm simply lock and unlock door with key try all doors in case lock cyliner switch is bad on drivers door, also remote should do it to
