Master power window switch

2002 Ford Mustang both back windows will work going down but on the way up it sometime takes a long ride and alot of pushing the button to make them close, checking the switch last night i noticed that my interior lights would dim when I closed my two front windows and would dim when I lowered my back windows but nothing would dim when I tried to close the windows Iam going to buy a new master power window switch, will this solve my problem?

I did test the switch and replaced it this morning, some good news the right back is now working, but the left back is not, I have power going to and out of the switch, my guess is now the window motor,is that correct.

Did you test the switch with a test light first?? Test then replace, that is the rule if you don't want to waste money on parts that don't fix the problem.

Yes that is correct, you can repair the motor by taking it apart and cleaning the armature.

Sounds like Smart Junction Box is defective. It's common on that gen mustang and causes alot of odd problems. Make sure there's no water leaking onto it.

2002 thunderbird window won't go up or down replace swith still wont work fuse are ok does the switch get power

The master switch connector does have circuits that have power on them. The Master switch is not directly connected to the window motors. The switch sends a signal to the Front Electronic Module and the module controls operation of the motor on the driver side. The passenger door window motor is controlled by a different module

Windows won`t go up or down

Power windows usually use a circuit breaker (in the under dash fuse panel) rather than fuses or relays.
If no windows work, check for broken wires in the driver's door opening, going to the master switch on the driver's door. Or pull the master switch out and check for a hot wire there with key on. You can also check the ground there too for the windows. The ground for the windows will start at the master switch and go back inside the car, possibly grounding at the left kick panel.

1999 ford mustang gt, location of driver side window fuse

Both windows are fused from the same location. Most likely the window motor has gone out or a malfunction this the track mechanism. Check to make sure the window switch in the door handle is good first. Take the switch out, take the wires off the back of switch and jump the wires/connectors together. If window works, replace switch. If all you hear is motor hum or no sound from motor, motor is bad. Window motors usually start to slow down (window rolls up slowly) before they go out.

1993 mustang 5.0 lx conv rear power window does not go up or down

More than likely it is going to be the switch on the drivers side door. The "master switch" if you will for all of the windows. It is possible that the ground connection came loose from the motor, or there is simply a short in the wiring. Nine times out of ten it is just a problem with the switch. Personally I have a 1995 Mustang GT and my rear drivers side window would not go down. I replaced the switch "it will have controls for all four windows" and now it works fine.

How do I fix the problem of all 4 power windows

See if you have power coming out of the master power window switch when a button is pushed down. Remove a door panel and check for power at the window motor with the switch pushed. If you do not have power it could be the master switch. Good luck.

Driver's power window stoped working. The passenger side works fine. What can be wrong?

Your power window motor could be bad. Remove the door panel and check for power to the motor. Check for power up and down switch position ,One wire will have power going up,the other wire will have power going down. If you do the motor is bad.

check the pwer switch. if you don't detect any sign of live. then you have to open the door panel to check the motor. most likely the motor or the "T" rail cable is broken.

check the relay for the power windows. it's most likely located on the fuse panel under the dash.
